Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

Out of curiosity, I did some very scientific Freckles... um, science. I camped it for a couple hours and tame/abandoned on PTR until I saw every known color. I did kill once, no loot. Side note: He is right next to Lucktail's island spawn point, who gave me a good spookin' a couple of times as quest...

Re: Exotic Beasts moved to level 39 (~ 98-99!)

This is for taming the beast, and not unlocking the exotic ability right? I could see taming it at lower level like 10, but not unlocking its second exotic ability till a little later (granted, not level 39 later).

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

As for The Gargon training, I hope the undead Tome comes from a rare, I hope it’s not covenant tied, so I don’t have to switch from covenant to covenant, and I’m now super hyped for my Hairless bear to enter my stables Same. Locking an entire sub-family of pets behind a Covenant would feel terrible...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

I like what they did with Freckles, and like how it shows there is a simple way to make skins available that doesn't require overcomplicated justification. Maybe one day those amazing stone direhorn skins will get their own Freckles!

Re: Shaman character screen gear is odd to me

I considered the fire, but that honestly put me more in mind of a combination of the furnace in Blackrock Foundry and the fact Rylaks can breathe fire. And to be fair, some Shaman gear involves skulls, but there are far more fitting options all around imo. https://i.imgur.com/2yfHvvV.png https://i.i...

Shaman character screen gear is odd to me

I don't main a shaman, so I really have no skin in this game. However it struck me as so odd that the Shaman gear previewed on the character selection screen uses Hunter shoulders. Sure, its a cool transmog, but Rylak shoulders is deeply hunter themed, not remotely shaman themed. Seems especially od...

Re: QOL Hunter Request. Beast Lore and Hunter's Mark as passive.

My thoughts: 1- Beast Lore being passively baked into the beast tooltip for hunters is an interesting idea. I dont know if it would get obnoxious after awhile if EVERY beast always displayed all the extra information though. Perhaps it could be a toggle. Neat idea though. 2- I'm a little surprised H...

These are rad. I agree about the blacks. I still haven't forgive them for what they did to widow spider.

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

Didn't see this mentioned anywhere. In Exile's Reach, the quest "Meredy Huntswell rescued" spawns a beast called Bloodbeak. Its tameable currently, but taming it hard bugs the quest for everyone. A couple people have hit this quest and can't progress, its been about 15 minutes since taming...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

I wish I knew how to develop a utility app for these taming passes. Something that allowed you to take a cropped screenshot that printed information about the targetted NPC right there handy. Stuff like NPC ID, family, flags like undead, zone, coords, the skin its using, etc. All with the click of a...

Re: Where is the Line Drawn For Intelligent Tameable Beasts?

@Quiv: I'll be honest, I just want the model of a Tauren cat form at my side, but your argument is definitely well thought out. We definitely think too hard on the topic though; the point of a hunter in WoW is to have cool stuff following us! We can roleplay any way we want since our character isn'...

Re: Where is the Line Drawn For Intelligent Tameable Beasts?

I've always found this to be an interesting thing to consider. I think there is space that could be explored for taming intelligent beings, but it requires recognizing the clear difference between taming as a gameplay mechanic, and taming as a fantasy. When we tame in game, we channel a cast for a f...

I somehow missed Mammoths are tameable, I love how big he is

Off topic: I think I've only seen Tukemuth one time on live in my whole WoW career.

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

Since Undead isn't a family, but still requires a special skill to tame, does the Undead tag show up in Beast Lore? (searched thread and didn't see this anywhere)

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

I'd kind of suggest Tsulong be made untameable. :/ I thought he was more in the demigod category, like Yu'lon. He's certainly a full-on intelligent and powerful being. And we have access to other black celestial cloud serpents. That would be a reasonable compromise if they are wanting to keep the d...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

Concerning Cloud Serpent rep, don't forget that during MoP Timewalking, you can buy the rep tokens for time badges! And once you're revered, theres the Grand tokens you can buy that double rep from Revered to Exalted. Both linked below. https://shadowlands.wowhead.com/item=143942/commendation-of-the...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

I find the tameable heavenly cloud serpents, such as Tsulong, very interesting. He is undeniably sentient and intelligent. I know its day one of this pass so I am cautious to read too much into it, but it seems to signal to a leniency toward taming intelligent beasts being more on the table. If so, ...
