If the appropriate NPC doesn't spawn from the book, do you just 'use' the book again? or do you have to do something else?

Ah. For some reason, I thought they were linked to the event. I'm glad that's not the case!

How viable is it to try to tame one of the new stone pets from the event? I haven't seen any of them pop up while I'm there, but the mobs that do spawn tend to get blown away by the folks in the area really quickly. I'm wondering if trying it at, like, 3am would make for a better chance of taming one.

Has anyone had any luck lately in finding/taming the Corrupted Shalewing? It seems that, on my realm at least, the Researcher event with the corrupted beasts hasn't been happening for weeks. I'm wondering if it's just bad RNG or something. There also seem to be fewer and fewer people doing the event...
