Got this from another forum, and it's currently circulating on facebook as well.

Bob Torquato (member of Del Sur KC until he moved to Valley Center) died unexpectedly last month at age 55 and left behind his Borzoi and Bengal Cats. The dogs went to Borzoi Rescue and some of the cats were placed, but Department of Animal Services has 25 Bengals. I believe they are mostly females. They are experiencing a huge problem as they just got in two large groups of cats and Bob's cats are not that well socialized. That said, I have one of Bob's cats and she is beautiful and charming and loves to be touched. She makes my life better, just getting to interact with her. I got Pearl when we were getting the dogs out. Several other friends are enjoying Bob's cats as well. If you ever wanted an exotic Bengal Cat, please go and adopt one of Bob's from the Carlsbad facility. I would hate to see them killed, and if they aren't adopted soon, they will be killed. The rescue groups that I contacted are overfull and wouldn't take them.

Please consider if you might have room in your life for a very beautiful, but possibly aloof Bengal Cat and contact Lt. Mitchell of Animal Services at once. If you know of anyone who might want a Bengal, please tell them about these.

Permission to forward is granted.

Hi Dr. Henderson, I'm a Lieutenant at the County of San Diego Animal Care Facility in Carlsbad. One of your emails, where you had shown some interest in the Bengals that had been seized, was passed on to me. The cats will be coming available for adoption this Saturday July 27th at the Carlsbad Care Facility. As you know, Bengals are a very special type of cat and many of the cats that we seized have never been socialized. Therefore, we are trying to unite them with people that have some type of experience with these kind of cats. We are also planning on working with a number of our rescue partners to try to re-home them. If you have an interest in adopting some of these cats please be aware the we do adopt on a first come basis. Also, all cats will be spayed or neutered and micro chipped before being sent home. If you have any questions or would like to see some of the cats please email or call me at 760-966-3224. Sincerely, Lieutenant Mitchell Levy County of San Diego Department of Animal Services 2481 Palomar Airport Rd. Carlsbad California, 92011 (760) 966-3224
