  • The class is very martial-arts based.
  • Lots of monk-only animations, the healer and tanks will have different stances they can stand in.
  • Monk Races - All of them except Goblin and Worgens.
  • Healer spec will be a new Melee healing style.
  • Will have same hit cap as an Arms Warrior.
  • As a Monk you can heal competitively without ever having to target a friendly player.
  • Monks will be similar to how a Discipline Priest can heal or cast Smite.
  • Roll may cost mana and have a cooldown once you're in healer stance.
  • There's a talent that changes roll into a different ability that heals and does damage to targets you "roll" through, which makes it interesting for the healer Monk.
  • Balancing a non mana using healer would be too hard, so Monks are going to use mana to heal.
  • All Monks will use similar stances and styles, but there will be slight variation across the races.
Monk Equipment
  • Leather Armor (Agility or Intellect).
  • Can wear cloth.
  • They hit a lot with hands and feet.
  • Can use Staves, Polearms, Fist weapons, 1H Axe, 1H Maces, 1H swords and Off hand weapons.
  • Finisher moves will require a weapon.
Monk Resources
  • Will use Chi, Energy and Mana depending on which spec you are playing.
TALENT TREES
Derax wrote:Talent System 2.0
  • Complete rewrite of the Talent Tree system.
  • You now have your class abilities, your spec abilities, and your talents.
  • Spec is chosen at level 10
  • First spec ability at level 10.
  • The goal is to have you sit next to another combat rogue, and this combat rogue will actually have different talents than you do.
  • Several new, overpowered (feeling) talents will be added to the game.
  • If you don't see a beloved talent in your new talents list, don't worry, it's probably something we gave your spec as a baseline. For example all Holy priests now have Circle of Healing.
Talents
  • Talent points removed.
  • Talent ranks removed.
  • One talent tree per class.
  • Talents earned at levels 15, 30, 45, 60, 75 and 90.
  • You get to choose 1 out of 3 every time you get a new point (You can only pick 1 of the 3 and can't go back to get the other 2).
  • No mandatory talents for 'Max dps'.
  • Talents changed easily as glyphs.
  • Previewed talents may change.
  • 6 tier talent tree.
  • 18 total talents to choose from, 3 on each tier.
  • Will require some kind of 'item(s)' to swap talents like glyphs.
  • Tome of the Clear Mind - Will be used to change out glyphs or talents.
New Model
  • Class Abilities are available to all specs in the class.
  • Spec Abilities are available to certain specs.
  • Talents are optional skills/bonuses available to all specs.
  • Level 15 - You pick your first talent.

Mike Morhaime on the Virtual Ticket Stream has clarified that both Horde and Alliance can play the Pandaren race. Same race, but you choose which faction you side with, apparently.

The new class is the Monk, by the way. I wonder if that's Pandaren only?

Pet battle system.

Hmmm, interesting. Do I battle for eight shiny badges? =P Overall, while I think it'll be interesting I also am not that impressed really. I think I'll still be leaning on GW2. Although I must admit, I feel they're taking a lucky shot with allowing Pandaren to choose the faction they support. Interesting idea. Hopefully they'll have a simple way to tell a Horde Pandaren from an Alliance.

NEW SIGNATURE PENDING... SOON.

I… Cannot express my distaste for this properly. Honestly.
I'll give it a chance, but so far, I do not approve. >.<
Oh well, lets see how this develops!

I really hope they give us more character slots per-server...I *REALLY* dont want to have to transfer off a character of mine just so I can make a Monk on my Main server. ;.;

Which I'm glad of, as I much prefer experiencing new continents on foot just like we had to in BC and WotLK at first.

They can be Monk, Mage, Rogue, Warrior, Shaman, Hunter and Priest.

Did they get their ideas for Pandaren racials from This Video?

On the plus side, maybe, just *MAYBE* the new Monk class will finally spur the development of more Fist Weapons in the game. My Enchance Shammy is a bit tired of swinging maces and axes.

Talents are ... uh ...
I don't even have words.
Suffice it to say that the entire talent system is going completely insane.
