[Guide] Kalliope's Checklist of Zul'Aman/Zul'Gurub Gear
This is an addition to my Cataclysm pre-raiding gear guide.
In patch 4.1, Zul'Aman and Zul'Gurub returned to WoW as level 85 5-man instances, bringing with them a slew of 353 epic gear. If you have an average ilevel of 346, then you can queue for these two dungeons without worrying about the other Cataclysm dungeons popping up. Assuming that you don't get terrible groups, this makes the gear in them quite farmable. You will definitely want to review the fights before going; there have been quite a few changes (like the cauldrons in ZG).
So where's the hunter loot at?
Zul'Aman
Akil'zon (eagle) - bracers
Nalorakk (bear) - shoulders
Jan'alai (dragonhawk) - nothing; included for reference
Halazzi (lynx) - chest
Timed Event Rewards: Frostheim's cloak
Hex Lord Malacrass - belt
Daakara - helm
Zone Drop: expertise ring (this is a last resort ONLY; other agi users get priority! see previous guide for better hunter options - also one in ZG)
Quest Rewards: dps warrior bow (not your best option, but at least there's no competition)
Zul'Gurub
High Priest Venoxis (snake) - nothing; included for reference
Bloodlord Mandokir (raptor) - necklace
Edge of Madness (one of four possible bosses; need someone with max archaeology to unlock):
* Shared Loot - gloves
* Gri'lek - nothing extra
* Renataki - OH fist weapon (this is a last resort ONLY; rogues/shammies get priority!)
* Hazza'rah - MH fist weapon (this is a last resort ONLY; other agi users get priority!), tanking gun (this is a last resort ONLY; warriors get priority!)
* Wushoolay - nothing extra
High Priestess Kilnara (panther) - ring
Zanzil - legs
Jin'do the Godbreaker - snake bow (no longer on Mandokir!), staff, MH dagger (rogue priority), OH dagger (rogue priority)
It's worth noting that the mini-bosses in ZG drop tradeskill items, the highlight of which is the voidwalker with the maelstrom crystal.
Good luck!

Just as a note - no hunter should ever need on the zone-drop expertise ring, unless other members of the group are needing on it to sell (not a problem post-4.2). An Elementium Destroyer's Ring (http://www.wowhead.com/item=52348) is a far, far better choice.
Also, the Twinblades off Jin'do are daggers, not swords!

Fixed the daggers. Thanks for the catch! *mumbles about them looking like swords*
That expertise ring is a godsend for hunters with little in the way of drop luck or gold/materials for better options, but yes, as I said before, it's a last resort for a hunter, since there are plenty of other options that are better. Still, I felt compelled to mention it in case a hunter is in a caster heavy group and is desperate.

Honestly, the only time they should ever need on that is if they specifically ask everyone else in the group if it is alright, explaining why and state that they'll equip it immediately. Even then, expect nasty comments from others about it.
You could quite easily go with the 346 ring from Therazane and the VP ring if you're short of gold. If I were in that situation, I'd greed the ring and hope I win it. Then I could sell it and buy the crafted 346 one which is actually better

Indeed. Course, I mention that in my other guide.
We're in good shape on rings, since we can get two 359 rings via vendors - one badge, the other reputation.
I definitely do not recommend rolling on certain pieces of gear that we can use and make an explicit point of stating so in both guides. One handed weaponry gets the same treatment, since it's not ideal for us anymore, with the one-handed agility enchant not receiving a Cata version.

Well the quicksilver ring is not 100% bad for a hunter, you can always reforge out some of the expertise into something else. It would come down to how much of an upgrade would the other 3 stats be to make up for the small 4th stat due to reforging.
I believe if you can believe out of nothing an explosion (big bang) happened then how far fetched can god be?

Exactly. Depending on the player's gear, an expertise ring might still be an upgrade. However, if there's a rogue/feral druid/enhancement shaman around, it's still a more useful piece for them, so we should be nice and let them have it unless they say that they don't need it. It's basically an offspec roll.

You can always pick the ring up in the AH as well, if you can afford it that is.

Hee! I have no doubt that there are guides for that out there. There are definitely old school bear run videos from BC still on Youtube. While the trash has changed somewhat, the spawn locations have not, and the bosses are still killed in the same order (eagle, bear, dragonhawk, lynx). There are a few trash pulls that should be skipped for extra time.
