Will you miss or not miss about old Azeroth when Cata comes?

Unread post by Arwyn »

According to information from Wowhead's Cataclysm Guideold Azeroth will be changing whether or not you have the expansion.

So with things changing, will you be weeping over what will be occuring in certain zones - like Desolace becoming a fertile area after the aftermath- will you rejoice in the change -like finally being able to fly around Azeroth. ( But since the gryhpon and wyvern masters will probably fuss about the loss of revenue I don't expect the ability to be given to lower level characters.)

And do you plan on taking pictures of certain zones so you can say, "Well I remember when Darkshore was a nice place. Not a torched burning wreck. Want proof, here some pics."

Me, I'm happy that the changes will bring a heck of alotta new quests even for low level toons. But on the same note I'm disappointed that the change won't effect the Outlands and I have to slog through that slow paced zone until I get high enough for Northrend.

And yes, I will be taking pics for prosperity's sake.

There is a heavy sense of nostalgia for me that dampens my overall excitement over this expansion.

I'm thrilled at the changes incoming, and I honestly do believe it's the best thing they could do to the game. With two expansions that have each added more detail and better cohesion to the world, original Azeroth's problems stand out more. Not to mention the fact that, with how many years World of Warcraft has been around now, everyone has most likely levelled through the same content over and over at tedium.

The world will seem 'new' again, and freshen that spark that I lost after I started to know the continents better than the back of my hand.

Still, the world I fell in love with was Azeroth. There's memories there that will stay with me for a long time, I've never found a game like WoW that has drawn me in so completely. So for those bits of the past I will certainly be melancholy for.

Still, in the long run I'm sure the 'newness' will override my feelings and they'll go on to be fond memories that I can re-live at my leisure through old screenshots and such.

I may miss a bit of it... But I've leveled through Old World enough to be sick of it. The changes will be much welcomed. <3 I will miss WC a bit though. =(

NEW SIGNATURE PENDING... SOON.

Yeah, once you get to the lower half of the dungeon, the room where water is tumbling in from hundreds of feet up... really beautiful to look at.

I think the sundering of Azeroth will be a good thing. Everytime someone asks in trade where a certain item, NPC, or place is and I answer immediately I have to pause for a moment and marvel at how well I know almost every square inch of this mythical land as well as I know my own neighborhood. I for one will be loving every second of exploring the new world, trusty beast by my side aand no more quick answers about where things are.

Maybe when Desolace becomes fertile I'll actually want to play there.

(Srsly, always hated that place).

I'll miss Orgrimar though. Isn't it getting completely destroyed?
