Brawler's Guild: Petopian Style

Unread post by Kalliope »

So! There are likely a good number of us competing in the Brawler's Guild right now. What have everyone's experiences been like?

I myself have reached rank 8 on Kalliope and have been having such a great time that I've actually gotten my priest to rank 4 as well. :D As shadow. In healing gear. >_< I didn't have major trouble with any fights on Kalli until rank 7, with the exception of the leper gnomes, who I had to change a glyph for so I would have enough AoE as BM. Rank 8 just makes me cry, since I need more gear on top of perfect execution.

I've been stuck on GG. My mouse started spazzing out making it hard to dance around the rockets so I've given up until I can get a new mouse.
I didn't die until I reached the leper gnomes and that was with the last one at around 8% when the fire got me. My first death to one of the actual bosses was the fight after because I didn't realize how much the birds hit for lol.
Gratz on rank 8 though. No one in my guild is there. My gm is just one fight ahead of me and hes been stuck there for a few days.

I too reached Rank 8 yesterday on my hunter (well, only level capped character), after finally getting Battletron down solo. Actually quite fun fight, as seeing a lot of progression when I added ways to boost my DPS felt great.
I got some problems with Ixx (standing too far), Akama (didn't kill wolves on first try), GGs (damn Death Ray) and Dark Summoner (pet dies in seconds as BM...), but rest went down quite easily. As Kalliope, I have now run some problems on Rank 8 fights (I jumped over that lazer! I swear!).

Only thing that I miss, is that one could refight bosses that player has already beaten. Other than that, I think that Brawler's Guild is one of the greatest things added to this game.

Ugh, GG. They are a massive pain in the butt. >_< Hopefully you get a new mouse soon, just to mess with them. :)

He's stuck on the Dark Summoner then. I absolutely loathe that fight. The spotlight can be aimed down for some reason, so it's possible to be pointing it in the right direction, but still not be halting the ghosts....and if you're not doing that if your pet goes to help you kill the ghosts, then your pet gets one shot. That fight and Battletron are the absolute worst, especially due to the dps requirements on the latter. Amusingly, Meatball is a pushover, at least for a hunter.

The first death I had was to Ixx, and only because I wasn't standing directly inside him on the first attempt (I died BEHIND him, sigh). Aside from the leper gnomes, nothing else prior to rank 7 killed me multiple times. I one shot GG once I swapped my strategy to staying on the guy NOT in cover, rather than running to break the shield.

I agree, I wish we could go back and fight bosses we've already passed. I want to get the Dark Summoner and Battletron down legitimately, not as part of the already-reported-but-still-incredibly-annoying bug that ports in multiple players and their bosses. Although hey, I suppose it counts for something to be able to down anything in that mess; I've seen groups thrown into the same position fail....not that anyone can blame them, since I've seen up to four bosses in there at once!

I think I just need gear now for Millhouse and Zen'shar - I've got the technique down, but keep hitting the enrage timers. I'm at 483 ilevel and I only have two piece. Epicus Maximus I'm not consistent on and Disruptron is really really REALLY unforgiving of missteps.

WHH featured Zine's rank 8 victories the other day; I've been picking up a lot of techniques/ideas from them.

I've been waiting on Sango(my monk) before trying my luck. She barely had any LFR gear so her gear isn't quite where I'd like it.

I'm only on Rank 1 at the moment. I could *easily* go higher, but I want to get the 'throw things at me' achievement while I can guarantee beating the enemies so it's easy. :) I'll advance once I have someone who can do that for me, and if all goes well, be able to get to at least 7 so I can give a present away.

I'm so far loving it. It's *such* a PvE thrill. And I've even made *sure* not to go looking for tactical videos. I would rather watch the people and their tactics directly, and watch the fights, to figure my own out. I looooooove observing!

Finally got progress in Brawler's Guild. :headbang:

After many, many wipes on Zen'shar I managed to take him down, but I died to enrage fire at the exact same moment. Because of this I didn't receive prize purse or title (at first), which annoyed me a lot as you can imagine, while still getting credit for achievement. I tried to relog, swap talents and everything, but it didn't help.

After some time, I got they "multiple bosses and players on the arena at same time" -bug. It was total chaos, as Milhouse Manastorm, GG Engineers, Frann&Riddoh and Kirrawk entered the arena. In panic, I focused on Kirrawk and managed to take him down with the help of other players and Power Crystals. After few seconds I died to barrage of other bosses' attacks. But I managed to get purse this time. As I flew back, I checked my title and achievement tab. I noticed that I didn't get credit for Milhouse, but I had my Brawler title!

If you ask how it happened, as I didn't get it from Zen'shar and I didn't kill Milhouse (Kirrawk was the only NPC to die on that fight), I have theory. Game seems to give credit for defeating BOSS first and after few seconds for defeating MATCH. I guess that title works so that it checks if you have defeated one of required bosses, and if you have, it will unlock itself after next succesfull match. Normally these happen right after each other, but in my case, game didn't have time to give me credit for defeating match, so the title unlocked after next one.

Nice to read about people's experiences. Haven't been able to try it yet, as I can't afford the invitation. Maybe someday. But dang, I want to try this stuff out! It sounds like so much fun. Grats to those who are making progress!

Yup, that's exactly how it works. Glad you lucked out and got one easy boss in there! Sometimes, the combination is just evil (Blat + leper gnomes, anyone?), or the people you go in with don't have clear heads and don't help.

Blat + lepers, is that all Kalli? Think about Epicus Maximus + Disruptron + GG Engineers. Talked one day with guildies how insane that would be.

I was thinking of fights I'd actually been in. ;) Millhouse was in there too, I believe.
