I really wish they could just make changes to hunters that apply only to PVP and not PVE as well. They have the means to do it, I just don't know why they do. I'm not sure if this a PVP change, that is effecting us in PVE or not. It does sound like it's related to pvp.
Hunter pets will only be able to Blink Strike once every 20 seconds and there will be a 10 yard minimum range to avoid the pet using it off cooldown when it's already close to the target.
we are removing the ability for the pets summoned through Stampede to use any abilities. The end result of this change should be that the pets a Hunter summons from Stampede will only be able to auto-attack. As you are all aware, these changes will result in a quite the reduction of net damage for Hunters, because of this we have also done a minor 15% buff buff to the damage of Arcane Shot.

That kills my practical stampedes, sigh. From a completely detached perspective, it WAS kind of overpowered that we had access to up to four bonus buffs for a short while...but seriously, this kills quite a bit of the fun.
I don't even have a reaction that's not just a frustrated sigh.
Why do they keep making these kinds of changes months and months after initial implementation!? And why bare-bones damage increase or decreases but nothing that changes the flavor of how any spec plays?
Oh good I'll just spam Arcane Shot some more that totally won't bore me out of my skull during raids!
So basically, this skill will become almost useless... It will be used only for slight damage boost only and nothing more.. That nerf can cause MANY problems in PvP AND in PvE..
Well ok.. I could just agree with you.. In PvP this skill might be a little overpowered due to its CC capabilities.. But, if it is just the CC of this skill you want to remove here are a few ideas so everyone can be happy.. (and no 15% damage buff to arcane shot is nothing)
-Reduce the cooldown of Stampede to 3 or 2 minutes.. Yes, you reduce its strength in many ways so why not reducing its cooldown so it can be used more often in hunter's rotation.. It will be a MUCH weaker ability after the nerf so reducing the cooldown is the right thing..
-Instead of the above said you could just make the pets summoned by stampede use no special abilities.. But keep using their "bite, claw" etc etc. abilities which are only do damage and no CC.. And btw they could keep their buff abilities too, since CC is what you care about..
-Or you could just nerf the skill with the way you plan to do it, but add this little buff at the same time.. "readiness now affects Stampede"..
Anything of the above, and of course not all of them, could be just fine.. Otherwise you just take the best skill that a hunter has (it's the last skill that a hunter learns) and you turn it into something utterly useless.. If this happen i can imagine that all hunters of WoW will begin to complain about this nerf (including myself) because it is just not fair..!
Really i am getting mad at all these idiots sprouting nonsense.. ok i will do the same now.. YOu asked for it..
Nerf druids they can tank damage heal during PvP at the same time they are unstoppable!
Nerf mages they have the highest damage.. No hunter could ever dream to do Mage's damage..!
Nerf rogues way to much CC + survivability + insane bursts!!
Nerf warriors you can't simply kite them they have so many CC damage and gap closers which make impossible for ranged classes to have any chance against them!!
Nerf warlocks on chaos bolt and it almost kills you..
Nerf Paladins they have so many heals and CC and cooldowns.. Lay of hand mean that you have to kill a Paladin TWICE in an arena..
I could go on and say stuff like that for all the classes.. I could create a thread too.. But you know what? Unlike you i am not going to keep sprouting bull!@#$ about classes i never played with..
It's sad that BLizzard actually listen to these people without even checking if these people say all these things by experience or just because they want their class to be stronger than all others..!
I believe if you can believe out of nothing an explosion (big bang) happened then how far fetched can god be?
The arcane shot buff actually stands to be a potential wrench for Survival specs, as it already is close to Explosive Shot in damage and focus cost. Preliminary simming is showing that Explosive Shot will still pull ahead in priority, but the source also says something similar happened in Firelands. How interesting! Did they remember that when they discussed this change prior to releasing it?
This also comes just in time for me not to have progressed far enough in Brawler's Guild to fight Battletron...? Someone on forums said 5x Spirit Mend was the one thing making or breaking that fight. I guess that's going to just be a brick wall I need to gear an alt for, or if it's really that bad, maybe they'll address it. (Haha, doing something nice just for hunters, hahaha, Neilaren, you're so silly to suggest such a thing!)
and now, the nerf shovel to scrape up the last remaining pieces of Hunter dignity off the floor?
I dual-box. And most of the time, it's my Hunter with my Warlock. They are geared in very equivalent gear, some of it crafted, some of it good-quality quest rewards. And I can assure you that my Lock does WAY more damage than my Hunter, and already has considerably more HP. So there is something wrong when one class is SO overpowered compared to another.
I've been dual-boxing a new pair: Hunter and Mage, and the Mage is a veritable nuclear bomb compared to the Hunter.
The only place I don't notice a difference is when I dual-box a pair of Hunters!

Wow. good thing my whole RBG team left to play Neverwinter. I'm glad they wont have to see what has happened to my class. I was *the* favorite core players because they could count on me to hold my own if they told me to guard something. during the last round of nerfs I was about as hard hitting and as durable as whet paper and now...this.
I have slowly been growing bored/frustrated with wow and at this point they are just beating a dead horse.
I think its time I start looking in to other mmos. maybe join my pvp guild on neverwinter or something. hmmm.
I've entirely stopped playing WoW. As a primarily PvP player, I found much more fun and interest in LoL. No gear grinding, very balanced, well rounded champs, and strong individual roles that are each important. WoW PvP has nothing on it IMHO.
On top of that, the endless grinding and dailies needed to get anywhere near the 'top' just gets so old. There's no point making Alts, by the time they're caught up to your main, you have to re grind them all.

So I'm curious. Is there any justification whatsoever for keeping Stampede on a five minute CD at this point? Seems like a superbly weak ability to have to wait that long to use it again.
I'm not even surprised, that is the worst part. It seems like we're always waiting for the next hunter nerf. Other classes can have all the little advantages they have, as long as it isn't hunters, even if it's only a brief advantage, even if it's on a long cooldown.

I'd say that pretty much nails it. And Gelanni is right; why have Stampede on such a long cooldown now?
I am SO over nerfs due to pvpers having a whine. Its such a small aspect of wow compared to pve...plus we suck in pve why can't we be a little good at pvp?? I really don't understand this....especially when you see other classes trump ours and wonder why they aren't nerfed to oblivion. A blood dk heal itself from 20%-80%, sure that isn't OP. A hot I can spam as a feral druid as long as I have rage, no way thats fine. Spam chain lightning and do 200k with blues, yep fine ele shaman....
Stampede was the ONLY thing we had over other classes in terms of a trump card, might as well flip the whole deck over at this point...
You know, I've been saying it a lot recently and it makes me incredibly sad, but my shadow priest is probably going to become my main. People have considered us the noob class since Wrath, but at least we knew how to make it so we did our fair share of DPS and could shut those people up.
Now we can't DPS for crap, and we're still considered the noob class. But now we're told our DPS is bad because we don't know how to play the game.
I'd like to see you suffer constant nerfs that debilitate your class (with people going on to claim those nerf aren't enough because sometimes a hunter manages to kill them in a battleground) and manage to play the game well. It's damn hard work.
Also I agree with previous posts. It's fine if rogues can stun-lock me and I never have any way to fight back. It's fine that everything can just ignore my pet and attack me and my class isn't meant to handle that. It's fine and dandy that I will almost never manage more than a handful of kills in any battleground, because my class just isn't important.
I get so much more respect as a shadow priest. People treat me well. I can fight back in battlegrounds. I can be a meaningful part of a dungeon.
I'm tired of feeling useless when it's not my fault.
