Does anyone else miss nighttime? (New: Nights are back 6.0!)

Just hope the zones are not too dark. That was a tiny issue I had in some zones. Just a bit of bad design imo.

As long as I don't feel like a blind mole in game, like I do IRL I'd love to have nighttime back. I could imagine some gorgeous screenshots coming out of it. I wouldn't have to find a really dark cave to take screenshots in if I wanted a darker background to make something lie the eyes of my mount really stand out.

Glowy pets and eyes would look amazing. My Azrael will certainly get some loving of the screenshots this time. If he doesn't yawn. Then I'd be blinded by the bright blue and sucked in by his giant mount

I must be the only one who isn't thrilled about this - I when I play its always at night so I got pretty sick of seeing the world in dark pretty quick. I think its fine for those that play all day but for me no thanks. Not going to like this change but then you can't please everyone all the time I guess.

I don't know if its even possible, but if it is, they could always add a toggle nights on and off option. Sort of like with the new character models.

I'll play at random times, but most often I do play at night. But I love night time, and I think Azeroth looks pretty crappy right now with the super bright nights, so I'm very excited for this change. I've played since mid bc and the nights were amazing... I just think it'll make the game look and feel a lot better when this is finally done ..

They could implement the accelerated day and night cycles in places other than SMV too, who knows.

But anythings better than what we have now, at least imo.

I never played at night before, so I didn't actually know these cycles existed. Then I related they had, but were gone. I didn't notice anything. Now, I think I'll be playing at night quite a bit it's just so enchanting!

I'm just so thrilled that we're finally getting them back! I love how it's dim and foggy just after sunrise, and that lovely warm sunset.

On one side, I'm really glad they added them back, the night scenery was great looking. On the other side, about 98% of my play time is when night time is up, so unless I'm on vacation or on a day off, I'll never see the light of day ever again in WoW, and I know I'm not the only one with this problem. They really should add at least an On/Off toggle, or an accelerated cycle option, something along the lines of maybe 1 or 2 hours for a full day and vice versa. I always thought it was weird that Azeroth's time cycle was exactly 24 hours just like Earth's.

I could imagine the hunt for pets. You leave in the morning, and actually get a sense of time passing as you camp. Plus, this'll warrant for some gorgeous screenshots

I agree. As someone who plays at night and is 2hrs behind oceanic server time this will suck big time for me

I guess me being a huge night owl and loving the night, I wouldn't mind mostly playing at night in game either. But of course, I love seeing early morning and simply day time in game too, so I understand that. Maybe they will do an accelerated day and night cycle, or they'll have that toggle switch that's been talked about.

But the more and more I read about this and look at photos the more I'm excited for it. I'd much rather have this gorgeous night time than the super bright nights we have now... Which are only discernible by looking up and seeing a moon. If Blizz would do more dynamic lighting it'd be even more epic (fire/spells etc. having their lighting updated, to where they'd react more realistically to the player and other items/npcs).

It would just be so cool fighting in a forest as a Mage at night, your spells lighting up the forest around you. Or riding through the woods while a wolf stalks through the trees, eyes glowing.

Stranglethorn Vale at least still gets some really epic storms, but I wouldn't mind seeing more weather around the world. It is nice to catch the rain when it happens though, I've been seeing it more often lately as I've been doing a lot of roleplaying in game. We end up standing in zones for long periods of time and I've been surprised by how often it rains! It could do with more foggy atmosphere though I think, the STV ones always get the rolling mist that comes along like a hurricane.
