Best hunter moments?

Topic is as title says. What are some of your most proud hunter moments?
Be it your best tame, your hunter or his/her pet saving the day, or just helping out a fellow player in need. Care to share your stories? :D





I myself remember most the time my pet Rune (a spotty cat from badlands who has since retired to scholazar) saved my first sunken temple group from a wipe when the tank aggro'd and bailed. The whole day had been laggy for whatever reason and the tank was getting frustrated and crabby over it and started to take it out on the rest of us in the group. After a while, the group mage snapped and insulted his ability to tank the instance in the first place which led to an almost full blown argument. This did not improve his mood.. The rogue in the group was afk at the time, which left just the three of us (myself, the holy priest, and the mage) to deal with Shade as the tank ran forward, grabbed aggo, and DCd it onto the three of us. Rather than feign instantly, I went ahead and told the priest to focus on Rune as I popped beastial wrath and sent him in right away (crossing my fingers that my poor pet wouldn't bite it before the priest even got to land a heal on him). As it turned out, Rune saved the day by holding aggro and taking a pounding for the team. I was a particularly proud hunter that day. :)

2 stories when I was leveling my tauren hunter:

When I was in the area to summon Echeyakee a Night Elf hunter appeared. Since I knew the story that Alliance hunters only had two chances to score a white skinned lion I summoned Echeyakee and backed away so she could have it. She tamed it, bowed to me, and then hearthed out with her prize.

The second time I was in Feralas on my tauren grinding on yeti for leather there was a gnome who was trying to do the OOX escort quest and failed. I just shrugged if off and went back to what I was doing when the gnome ran up to me and made begging and crying emotes and moving to where the quest started. Since I hate escort quests and felt a shameless boost of pride that he wanted the quest so bad he was willing to work with the "Bad Guys" I went to where he was indicated to show that I understood and I helped him get it done.

As for things I did on my Night Elf: I did the chicken dance so my Horde friend could get the pet chicken.

Gonna have to say mine was more recent.

I joined a random on my BM hunter and right away the survival hunter says "Beast Mastery sucks... go respec." After the first boss I reported the dps charts and it clearly stated that I outdps'd him by 725 points to be exact. So either he sucked or he sucked. That made him shut up the rest of the run though

Someone talked me into doing a random run through whatever heroic, I don't remember.
The whole thing was going on very silently, nobody writing in the chat besides "oom" or "afk".
When the last boss was down, the tank just dropped one line:
"Now that's a hunter I like to run heroics with. Can I put you on my FL?"

Made my day, really.

When i tamed Humar was quite special. A night before school i was up til 1 in the morning on a three hour camp, (not unusual on a school night) and it was the first time i camped anything. Ever. He didn't spawn for me, but when i got home he was there waiting for me and i got the tame with no trouble.

Another time was when my Shaman friend (Who causes a load of arguments with me on WoW) started this one argument about hunter dps being awful, so later that day we got into a Naxx10 run with the guild we were in and we done the first three bosses of the spider wing and to start off i was 4th on dps and he was 5th, and as we progressed our numbers obviously changed and at the end i finished at around 2.9k-3k dps at 2nd place and he finished 6th place he might even of been lower. Now i don't like argumental confrontations, but over a game when someone is so sure that they're right and you get to show off right in their face that they're wrong is a feeling i must admit, love!

Also when i got Echeyakee on my dwarf which at first was difficult as i could hide in Shadowmeld like i could with my NElf, and there was the timing aswell, waiting for someone to summon him. But then one day a Horde summoned him and i ran out from the bushes that are near the quest area and the Horde stood there, if i emoted with him to communicate it was very little emotes if any, but i think he understood why i was there anyway so he summoned him and ran back so i could freeze and tame. Was a great day!

The only problem with these posts are that 2/3 of them aren't really helpful to the community, which is a shame as i've boosted people before, helped people with items and so on, but when i think about my hunter moments these are the only ones that stick out in my mind really...

My best Hunter moment actually happened in Wintergrasp. I spotted a Warlock below 20% health floating, I believe afk. I decided to be a jerk and Kill Shot him in mid air, then parachute safely to the ground. Well I dismounted, shot him and -THOUGHT- I hit my parachute.

Turns out I hit Aspect of the Monkey... Sadly, I couldn't dodge the ground. =(

My other best moment was finally finding Humar under that tree after a month of camping. <3

I think my first best moment came at level 10. I was fresh to the game, knew next to nothing, and was pretty hyped about everything. When I finished the beast taming quests and was told by the npc that I could pick my own, I was thinking, "Really? Anything I want? Wow." The lynx had impressed me, so I tamed one. With that cat at my side, I felt like my own party. I could take on the WoW world (or so I thought) and it was a good day.

Catching Loque'nahak has to be the moment of moments. What else can you call the near endless seeking and waiting when you finally find what you were after. My hunt for that cat wasn't the longest search, nor was it the shortest search. I did go a little off when circling, tedium will do that and I daresay I had my own set of superstitious behaviors. I can remember explaining to guild mates why I was stuck at level. "What are you doing in the Basin?" "What? Circling still, Sochi?" "Level, girl, level." I still have that map of spawn points printed and sitting atop my monitor. I can point to the spot where I found him. I will forever remember the freeze trap fumble and suddenly missing taming icon (thank you, hubby, for guiding my hand to it). I can recall the fifteen minutes of shaky legs after the tame was over and the relief that nothing went awry. I remember immediately mounting up and getting out of the zone to a safe spot just to admire my new companion and to crow to guild-chat that I had tamed him. That was a best moment.

Hmm. I'd have to say my real "whoa, I'm a HUNTER!" moment was really two moments, at about the same time. I was raiding as a BM hunter, and decided to dual spec SV since our raid needed a mana battery. Going from abysmal SV dps right at first, when I had no idea what I was doing, to being competitive with the other hunters in BOTH my specs made me feel like I actually understand the class. About the same time, I was trying to get Icecrown loremaster and soloed all the group quests up until the last few 5-mans. BM pets are beasts! Lol.

I will always remember the Sunken Temple group I had at level 47 on my first hunter. I had recently come back after a long break from WoW, and decided to tame one of the new(to me) serpents.

When we get into the instance, the mage and tank suddenly say at almost the same time:
"Sorry, I can't do this, your snake is scaring me to death" which I found somehow hilarious .

And they left. So I went back to the Darkshire stable master, and tanked the whole instance with my trusty Bluemoon instead .

Best hunter moment i had was in vannilla and now in wotlk

vanilla when i killed the 4th demon ffrom my epic quest line

thats when a TRUE hunter gets born if u would ask me

then tbc is when i hated hunter the most beeing called huntards just because we were easy to play with no skill and all kids playing one BM ofcourse and spammung the dps macro

then you have wotlk when i tamed my beloved cat and was in middle of orgrimmar with everyone asking where i got it ^^

I think my favorite moment was when I found Humar... I loves that Cat sooooooo much! I played with it all the way to 80!

Then again... I was so happy when I found Skoll I smiled all day long :3

Ironically, while I do not consider myself a PVPer, most of my best hunter moments were pvp ones.

The first was a WSG battle. I was playing on my NE hunter and helping to guard the flag. Some guy had just stolen it and I chased him down to get it back (this is not the cool part). I tagged the flag and sent it back just as an undead priest started attacking me, presumably to try and free the flag up for his team a bit too late. I sicced my hyena, Jia, on him and started shooting away. Next thing I know, the guy has spun around and tried to run. I intended to let the guy go since we just drove him away, but Jia gave chase (defensive, doncha know). Instead of recalling him, I just followed. My hyena chased the priest literally across the ENTIRE Warsong Gulch no-man's-land, periodically tagging him with his slow ability, until the guy dropped dead. HILARIOUS.

The second best moment was when I was guarding the mines in arathi basin. I had been calling to my idiot partners to send a second person to help me guard, or we'd lose the mines. Two horde members tried to take me down before anybody could come help me. I sicced Jia on the clothie and took on the other Hordie by myself with traps and shots. Jia totaled the clothie and the other guy ran. Base mine. We won that round

Thank you for reminding me. Flying through Wintergrasp (For the first time) and i found my best ever pvp kill, a rogue was AFK near some pillars and i stood on the very corner to see if i was in range, and what are the chances? I was! so i unleashed a rotation on him and watched him fall to the floor...

Not sure 'bout every other server, but on mine Hunters are considered easy to play but then it struck me! Most hunters on my realm usually end up 3rd or 4th so my question is: If it's an easy class to play, why does everyone suck at it on my server? As in my above post when i out-dps'ed my shammy friend and not just him, every other dps in the raid (Apart from 1st, which was actually a well geared tank...). I'm usually always 1st on the dps meter unless i'm in the party with the other dps being better geared than me.
