Is lead ore useful yet?

I've been googling, but haven't seen any new info. My smith doesn't have much, but I hate to dump it in case a use for it is pending.

I remember hoarding all kinds of stuff on Sara as I was leveling her, "in case" it'd become useful. But really, Blizz wouldn't go back and make something useful that everyone has vendored for years. They'll just invent something else instead.
