Petopians US - Interest in current content raiding.
How it would work if we had enough interest:
I would lead a core 10 man group with a paladin alt I'm leveling, which would take up the role of tanking. The first ten people that ask to join would get in, as long as we have a slot open for them. I would also like to point out, due to the nature of the guild, we may have a large number of hunters wanting in, leading to high competition in hunter gear. Just putting that out there.
Once the first 10 man group is formed, if we had a large number of others wanting to raid, I would attempt to form a 2nd 10 man group, and pick a leader for it. In the event we don't have enough people of certain roles for a group, we would have a bench warmer group for replacements when someone can't make it.
Of course, if we have two 10 man groups formed, and have some extra, a 25 man group wouldn't be out of the question. Perhaps every month or so there could be a 25 man group run.
If we get at least 1 10 man group made, there will be a thread for them, with the first post updated with current information, such as what boss will be attempted on the next night of raiding, who to talk to about information, and a link to the boss fight. Things like that.
At this time there I do not plan to have a voice chat requirement for the raids. I know a few members can't use them for various reasons, and wouldn't want to exclude them over that. My raid team would be done with chat and raid warnings. The second group would have freedom to choose to use one or not. It would complicate things for the 25 man runs though.
Anyhow, vote and post any ideas you have and such. Please note the voting is only for members of the Petopians US guild.

... you could say I have some experience.
Also, I'm happy to raid on Steampunk, my shaman (ele). OR Petrolpunk, my priest(disc).

I don't have any raiding experience, but when Hordemouse (or another alt) reaches a decent level I'd love to come :3

I've been raiding since BC. I've had the most experience DPSing, but I've also healed and tanked on occasion.
I have a few questions I'd like to bring up, but I feel it'll be better to wait until we know for sure this is happening.

THe big reason I am unsure is I just got a new job. and I still dont know my hours.
Another thing that worries me is all the hunters. I would need to see a set loot system that everyone agrees on. Because people will get hurt otherwise..And free rolls wont do it. Random is to freaking random. the same person could still get everything.
People may say oh I will be fine with the free rolls. til they never win anything. Then you will have people refusing to come anymore or worse, claiming us unfair and leaving the guild. Trust me, I have seen it.
So again, I would like to go, but my hours are uncertain and I would need to see the loot system you are setting up first.

A variation of Suicide Kings is probably what I would use.Jelani wrote:I would need to see a set loot system that everyone agrees on.
Basically, for every boss you are there to kill, you earn DKP. If you roll on something you want an win, your DKP is completely wiped.
So for example, let's say Hunter A and Hunter B are in the raid group.
Hunter A - DKP: 0
Hunter B - DKP: 0
And, they kill one boss together.
Hunter A - DKP: 1
Hunter B - DKP: 1
Loot drops! Both roll! Hunter A wins!
Hunter B - DKP: 1
Hunter A - DKP: 0
They kill another boss together!
Hunter B - DKP: 2
Hunter A - DKP: 1
More loot! Hunter B wins because they had more DKP!
Hunter A - DKP: 1
Hunter B - DKP: 0
And so on and so forth. For people joining in as replacements, it doesn't favor them, and I'd have to work something else out. This is just to give a general idea.

Re: Petopians US - Interest in current content raiding.
tryin to describe it is a different story, lol, so here goes
Hunter A, Hunter B, Hunter C all need the Shiny Bow from the first boss.
Hunter B wins the roll.
Second Boss Drops a Fancy Gun.
Hunter A and Hunter C roll on the gun, Hunter A wins.
Third Boss drops pretty gloves.
Hunter C hasn't won anything yet, but has better gloves than what dropped so...
Hunter A and Hunter B do a Greed Roll for the gloves.
Essentially, in the end, You get 1 NEED roll, 1 GREED roll, and then if somethin drops that NOONE else is gonna need (ie it will get DE'd otherwise) it's free game.
Loot Master keeps track of who used their need roll and who used their greed rolls and it's fairly smooth.
basically loot master will announce in raid chat, SHINY BOW has dropped, roll your NEED roll, or something like that. If noone needs, then he'll announce roll your GREED roll. if noone rolls for that, last chance roll, will be de'd otherwise. So long as loot master is keeping track, the system can't be abused. And people can come in the middle and nothing has to change about the loot rolls.

I actually quite like the idea of the Ni Karma system myself. Always wanted to try it. Still gives people new to the raid a chance to roll on an item, but people who regularly turn up get a better shot at it.
