Re: Changes in Petopian Leadership
I agree with most of the points raised by Ari on the first page.
To some extent, the guild master position in a guild like this is just a figurehead - so long as the officers pick up the slack.
Guild events can and should be run by whoever wants to do them.
I have run a guild with quite a similar family/casual environment for 5 years now. Delegation to a sensible officer group has been key to our success. Dispute resolution has been handled by what I call the "rule of three" - any contentious issue (eg kicking someone from guild for misbehaviour) needs at least three officers to agree, or a 3/5ths majority if more than a few are on at the time. The GM just counts as another officer.
However, an active and involved guild master who is online at least a few times each week at peak time is pretty necessary for continued morale.
I'd like to say Thankyou to Ryno for his leadership and enthusiasm, which are a large part of making Petopians guild the place we know and love.
(I'm an officer in Petopians, but late at night and also not terribly active.)

After much care, Korii has been chosen as our new guild leader, with P.Dawg's blessing.
