Petopians Alliance (EU): Time To Migrate?

Unread post by Golden »

There has been a lot of complains in the past about the EU Alliance guild residing on a PVP server. Up till now I've made up excuses for it to stay there - mainly the fact that it's where my main(s) are so I can bring in more than I would if I was to start over, not to mention transferring my seven 85s elsewhere would cost far too much.

However, with some of the upcoming changes to how PVP realms work, I have decided it's time to move on and find a new realm to call home. It pains me, having to force the current members to pay up if they want their toons to stay with the guild, but at this point there isn't much choice. I made a foolish (and selfish) decision at the start and for that I'm sorry.

This time I'm not going to make all the decisions myself, though. I want to get everyone's input on where to go. So far I have my eyes on Chamber of Aspects, but I'm open to any and all suggestions.

I have tried playing on the pvp server but realy could not find the fun of it one of the reasons i left again, and sticked to the horde server. I do like to play on both sides so if the guild would move i probably will make one or more characters as well. I know the server Chambers of Aspects as i have one horde character there, the people seem nice and all. And i have heared that it is a pretty balanced world, which is always more fun.

Tarren Mill was my first pvp realm and although I have grown very fond of Aravindil, I have neglected her due to my experiences on TM. My other 8 toons including my main is on Lightbringer and I was considering moving her there, but now that Golden is looking to migrate I might just follow :headbang: Don't know anything about Chamber of Aspects tbh.

Thanks for the input so far. :3 I'll be initiating the migration as soon as I can afford it (I'm expecting that to happen sometime this or next month). Until then, feel free to give your opinion on the realm, I'll post again when I'm ready to initiate the move.

Doing some research, Terokkar-EU seems to have a really high Alli ratio. Though it'd no doubt be an upgrade from the current realm where it's the opposite, I'd personally prefer a balanced realm for a change.

Can you tell more about the realm, assuming you've played there before?

My warlock was originally on Terokkar, and I enjoyed it. The only downside would be the trade. Some claim that trade is "dead" in comparison to some servers such as Sylvanas. What would you like to know?

Shadowsong is my current main server, its a 60-40 alliance ratio which ain't bad, its got friendly people from what I have seen and its never too busy in the cities. It's also home to the Druids of the Beast, one of the top druid only guilds so its no stranger to specialist guilds.

I shall be keeping an eye where you move to as I plan to move my 85 hunter from earthen ring so you might be getting a new recruit.

Wait, why not just move it to Bloodhoof? There's a fairly even distribution on that realm, and the horde guild is there, so it makes the most sense.

The horde and ally guilds for EU are on different servers?? I think it would make sense to just have them all on one. Make it easier for those with players on both to send the BOA's etc

Exactly. Keep both guilds on one server, and it's a lot less confusing!

Otherwise they would be, but a lot of people (me included) have too many toons to fit on a single server. I have nine toons on the Alli guild's server and I think six on the Horde one. Since I have almost all professions on Alli side, I'd rather not separate them over multiple realms. As an altoholic I'd hate having to hand-pick which toons (or classes) to exclude from the whole guild experience. 5 for each faction just isn't enough for me to be comfortable. :(

I think that most of us don't play more than 5 characters on a server normally, and not everyone plays both factions, so it's a minute slice of players that actively play more than 10 alts on one realm. At least that's my opinion, please don't be offended by it. ^^''

You're probably right. :) But I'm choosing to be selfish on this part, if only to continue to have the chance to make random alts on my main server. Not having a free slot or two scares the heck out of me. :x

If I had to pick between staying on Tarren Mill or paying 100 euros to transfer onto a server I can't have all my Alli toons on, I'd choose the former. Heck, I'm still not sure if it'd be worth all that money, but I figured it was for the best for the guild.

Quel'thalas? Azjol-Nerub?

Bloodhoof makes the most sense, but if you're looking for a separate realm altogether, just pick one which has a decent population and alliance to horde ratio.

Ahh makes sense, I didn't think about that. I hope they increase the player cap at some point.

What about those people who already have a 85 of each class on a server? Are they not able to make monks?

They're increasing the level cap by 1 for Mists of Pandaria (with purchase of expansion), so there will be a total of 11 characters allowed per server. At least people can have one of each class if they desire.
