Magnakilro's Guide to Glory of the Draenor Hero

Unread post by Magnakilro »

Such a long gap between guides I've made means I need to catch up! So here's another guide!

This will target the Warlords of Draenor installment of the 5 man heroic meta achievements. Unlike past entries, you will NOT get a red draconic mount this time...nor will you get a flying mount of any sort. Instead, you will get the frostplains Battleboar mount...an armored Light Grey draenor boar.

So let's get to it! Like past ach guides, I'm going dungeon by dungeon:

--------

Bloodmaul Slag Mines:

Come With Me if You Want to Live: This ach requires you to rescue an npc named Croman from the dungeon. Croman is located behind the first boss, Slave Master Crushto. Kill Crushto and talk to Croman. Croman will follow the person that spoke to him. You now need to keep him alive throughout the entirety of the dungeon.

WARNING: You can NOT skip to Magmolatus before grabbing Croman! Doing so permanently despawns him!

Ach rewards Croman as a follower.

--

A Gift of Earth and Fire: This one requires you to complete the Magmolatus encounter without killing the named adds, Calamity and Ruination. The adds are summoned by the ogre, Gog'duh. Let him summon the adds, then just single target nuke Gog and Mag down. Easy, though can be pretty heal intense.

--

Is Draenor on Fire?: This one is another 'ignore adds' deal. Kill Gug'rokk without killing his adds. Super easy. Just watch those AoE's.

----------------------

Shadowmoon Burial Ground:

What's Your Sign?: This ach requires you to do a lil something extra during the Sadana Bloodfury fight. There are 24 purple runes forming a circle around the outer edge of her arena. The runes have 3 shapes (8 runes with each shape). I call the shapes: Undo, Bat, and reaper...just based on appearance. When the boss casts Dark Eclipse, all 8 runes of one of the shapes will flash white, briefly. After this occurs, your group needs to stomp out all 16 runes that DIDN'T flash so that all that is left is the 8 runes with the shape she chose. These runes hurt so be careful. The runes reset if she survives to use a second dark Eclipse, so don't let that be a thing.

----

Icky Ichors: This ach requires you to bring a bunch of teeny trash mobs to Bonemaw, the third boss. Specifically, he needs to Inhale 25 Corpse Skitterling spiders. There are 2 ways to do this. The harder way is to use Bonemaw's trash. Pull them and carefully kill the trash that AREN'T skitterlings as you get to him. But there's a super easy way.

The upper areas of Sadana's room actually have 40 Skitterlings total. We can use those! What you gotta do is make sure the group does NOT drop down either of the shortcut holes (you'll likely end up killing 10 of the spiders regardless but 30 is still good.). Take the long way...making sure to clear so you have trash-free paths to all the spiders, but don't pull the actual spiders yet. Clear the dungeon, including Bonemaw's trash (all of it...all the skitterlings you need are back at start). Once you are at Bonemaw, send tank back to grab all the skitterlings back at the beginning. Bring em all to boss. Pull boss and wait for Inhale. When all the babies are eaten, kill boss and enjoy cheev.

---

Souls of the Lost: This one isn't too hard. You need to kill 2 Ritual of Bones skeletons within 5 seconds of each other, then kill Ner'zuhl. Just a teeny bit of coordination and you are set.

----------------

Iron Docks:

Militaristic, Expansionist: This one can be difficult. You need to kill Fleshrender Nok'gar while all 3 named trash mobs preceding him are alive and in combat. This is basically a repeat of the 'Watch Him Die' cheev from Azjol'nerub. One thing to note is that the adds don't need to be there for the WHOLE fight...they just need to be there when he dies. Get Nok's hp low, have someone pull all 3 named trash...kill Nok and YAY into the sunset.

----

Expert Timing: Super easy. Its just a matter of taking your time. Past Nok'gar, there is an area where you can use Iron Stars to clear trash. This ach requires you to kill all 4 Ogron in this lil area with 1 Iron Star and without the ogron being in combat. Do not that Nok'gar MUST be dead or the Iron Stars are unusable. (BM Hunters can solo him tho...nuke wolf down asap then nuke him down...stop attacking when he uses Reckless Provocation). The 2 ogron trash between Nok'gar and the stars are useless for this ach..just kill em both and do the do.

-----

Take Cover!: Easy ach. This ach requires you to kill Skulloc without anyone getting hit with Cannon Barrage or Backdraft. BEST way to do this is to blow every cd you have and kill Skulloc himself immediately, before he even uses it.

If he does use it, hide behind the boxes to avoid the Cannon Barrage. Keep moving closer to him to avoid Backdraft. Backdraft gets a longer and longer range the more he uses Barrage so stop him fast.

The section between the Iron Stars and Grimrail Enforcers boss where you are going through a maze of crates while Skulloc is using Cannon Barrage on you has no effect on this ach whatsoever.

-----------------------------------------

Grimrail Depot:

This is Why We Can't Have Nice Things: You have to get Borka the Brute to destroy all 5 of the Pauli's Precious Paraphernalia chests around the room. They are teeny chests, but somewhat easy to see. Do note that one of them is atop the nearby stairs. To destroy the chests, Borka needs to be lured into using his Mad Dash ability on em (only done when Rocketspark is on top of a crate stack).

-----

No Ticket: You need to punt 20 adds off the train during the Nitrogg Thundertower encounter, then kill him. Any knockbacks will suffice. Just keep punting till you've removed enough adds this way, then kill boss.

----------------------

Everbloom:

Water Management: You have to kill Witherbark without him absorbing any water balls. Pull him as far away from water as possible and nuke nuke nuke. Kill water balls that may reach him. Try to put Bramble Patches between him and water as Water balls touching those are absorbed and spawn an add.

He only tries absorbing them in p2 btw.

--

They Burn, Burn, Burn: This is personal. You need to jump over fire rings during the Sol encounter. Specifically, 5 rings in 5 seconds. Keep her in Fire phase (its hp % based) till she spawns a good amount of fire flowers then jump over rings they summon till you get it.

--

Weed Whacker: Easy. Just kill Yalnu without any friendly npc's dying. If an npc gets rooted, kill the roots.

-------------------------------

Auchiondoun:

They All Fall Down: You need to kill Nyami after killing 12 of her adds within 3 secs. Best way to do this is to pile up her Defender adds (they don't do anything but melee) and Single target down the other 2 add types. When you have 12 defenders, mow em all down...then kill boss.

---

Auchindoun has 2 more achievements: Demon's souls (kill Azzakel without killing anything else in the encounter) and No Tag-backs (kill Teron'gor while you are effected by Azzakel's Flame Curtain debuff) but neither are needed for the meta.

------------------------

Skyreach:

Ready For Raiding IV: Easy. Just dodge the big obvious avoidable stuff. Ach is personal.

--

I Saw Solis: This ach is pretty buggy. It says it needs 3 Piles of Ash to become adds at the same time, but it turns out you may actually need 5. Best way to do this is to have all adds targetting one person, kill any that aren't. Once they get together, kill em all at once. Then do whatever's necessary to get em all to rez at the same time. Kill boss after that.

Again this one is pretty buggy, so gl.

--

Monomania: This is a throwback to the Elder Nadox ach back in An'kahet. You need to kill Viryx without killing the adds that shield him. The adds can be CC'ed and interrupted.

--

Magnify, Enhance: This one is simple enough. When you get to Viryx, go to the right edge of the platform and look down. There'll be a platform below that seems to have no purpose for being there. On that platform is a super teeny unattackable Apexis Golem. You need to activate and kill it. To activate it, pull Viryx and fight till he uses Lens Flare. Lead the lens flare down to the lil golem. The fire from the laser will activate the golem. From here on, Viryx is useless...kill him, reset him...doesn't matter. Kill the golem after activating it.

-------------------------

Upper Blackrock Spire:

Magnets, How Do They Work: You need to kill Gor'asahan without him casting Thundering Cacophany 4 times. He tries to cast it whenever he uses his conduits to shield himself. Mess with the conduits he uses to break the shield. Speed is key!

With enough gear, this is easy as you can have him dead after the first shield. Note that he uses more conduits for each shield.

If you need to go thru multiple shield phases...station a melee or the healer up with the boss. Assign each remaining person in the group to 2 conduits each. There's actually 7 conduits so one person will only need to handle one. Gor doesn't really need a tank. Just click your assigned conduits asap.

--

Leeeeeeeeeeeeeroy...?: You need to help the npc Leeroy Jenkins find his Devout Shoulders. After killing Kyrak, you can see Leeroy's corpse near the boss. A player with a rezz spell can bring him to life. When alive, he talks a bit (fully voice acted by the real leeroy) and goes to prepare chicken, starting a timer. You have a few minutes to clear ALL trash in the dungeon up to and including Son of the Beast. When time runs out, Leeroy will charge through the dungeon and pull anything and everything in sight. If he safely reaches Son of the Beast's room, you'll earn the cheev. Cheev gives Leeroy Jenkins as a follower. You'll also get the Jenkins title if you missed it back in the original UBRS.

Note: Keep an eye out for the rare hydra, The Lanticore (looks like Chimaeron) that spawns near Kyrak. He drops the Lanticore Spawnling pet (baby Chimaeron).

Note 2: Do NOT pull the trash in the next room before rezzing him, or it permanently despawns him.

--

Bridge Over troubled Fire: This ach is easy. Kill 20 Ragewing Whelps within 10 secs, boss does not need to die. Basically you need to make sure that you don't kill adds until Ragewing summons the second pack of adds (only 10 spawn at a time).

--

Dragonmaw? More Like Dragonfall!: Just kill 5 protodrake adds then kill boss. Only annoying thing is they tend to not hang around very long.
