Hey, can you post a guide for hunters to solo it?? I've wanted that one as well, and I think it's probably the rarest mount I know, other than the White Rhino.

I tried to 2-man it with a friend, but we failed at the whelps (WHO PULLED WHELPS?! THAT IS MINUS 50 DKP!)

Congrats! Super-jealous here too, it's a gorgeous mount.

In terms of soloing, as survival:

-I use a turtle/beetle and tank Onyxia at the far end against the wall.

-Gently get her down to the next phase without popping cooldowns.

-When the whelps arrive, I feign death. They sometimes bug and despawn completely.

-If not, I gather them up with the turtle, pop the shell and cower and quickly blast them down.

-Once the whelps are dead, I pop cooldowns and get Onyxia down. The longer phase two goes on, the more likely you'll wipe.

-When a large add spawns, I sic the pet on it and ignore it (unless a second spawns).

-If you survive for the landing, I kill all remaining adds before pummeling Onyxia; this phase is as simple as the first! Tanking her against the wall here prevents any accidental whelp-pulling.
It's pretty hiss and miss at times, and usually takes several attempts. I'd imagine it'd work for MM, too, but likely not BM. Even then, the fight usually ends when I'm at around 10% health.

The guide does! I play MM, i cant work Surv for the life of me but my general problem is getting my head wrapped aroun her phases since i dont know em all that well if i was to do it alone. I just never really had enough interest to research a solo guide but with MoP making things account wide, its making it difficult to resist xD

Nice! Congrats to Zorikune, "old" thread or not. This mount is a big one of my "wants" but as BM, last time I tried it I just got annihilated by the whelps. I may try the feign-to-reset them strategy next week, thanks for the tip!
