Wolf mounts larger in 6.1
For whatever reason (not complaining!) they decided to make Draenor wolf mounts 20% larger in 6.1.
I couldn't get the comparison shots to be exactly the same, but the following should give you a good idea. Compare how high the wolf's head is on the banner on live (left) compared to 6.1 (right), and also the size relative to my draenei.

Re: Wolf mounts larger in 6.1
I hadn't noticed how small they are, since I play a smaller race, but that does look a lot better proportioned. Poor thing looks ill-suited to carry a draenei in the first picture!

Thank god... theyre definitely way too small and I hope they fix their run too. (Along with the boar's and hippo's)

Re: Wolf mounts larger in 6.1
I don't have a problem with the run but they definitely are too small for my Night Elf. Garn is slightly bigger than the others already.
I like the faster run animation better actually. It seems more realistic.

Re: Wolf mounts larger in 6.1
Do you just have the garn? It's run is a bit better as its already larger than other wolves.
But if you have the (unarmored) frost wolf, or the stables wolf it's wayyy too fast to be realistic.

Thank god. They're so tiny and I hate that.

No I have the stable wolf and the frost wolf and like them better with their run. The slower run just seems like they're floating.

Re: Wolf mounts larger in 6.1
I hate that rapid run. They feel like I'm riding on a puppy rather than a large full grown wolf.
Re: Wolf mounts larger in 6.1
The rapid run seems a bit too jerky to me. It makes the bad limp they have far more pronounced.
Sadly the rapid run animation still exists in 6.1. The armoured wolves seem to run at around 1.4 cycles per second (rough estimate using a timer) while the non-armoured wolves are around 1.8 cycles per second. I can't imagine any deliberate reason for that, but Vanilla wolf mounts are around 1.4 as well, so they have definitely changed it TO the faster animation. Odd.

One thing that might need to be checked is if it is just your race/sex that has had the size increase or a flat 20% increase for everyone.
I know that gnomes have bigger mounts (size wise) than worgens and others which made no sense and always annoyed me a tad. I don't like to look like I'm crushing my poor mounts and it did make me avoid such mounts. Glad to see they the puppies and getting bump up in size though, very welcome

Good point. I'm not sure how base scaling interacts with racial scaling. I just noticed the scaling in CreatureDisplayInfo.dbc was just changed from 1.0 to 1.2 for a large number of looks that were all Draenor wolf mounts, so I thought I'd check player mountsSpiritBinder wrote:One thing that might need to be checked is if it is just your race/sex that has had the size increase or a flat 20% increase for everyone.

Re: Wolf mounts larger in 6.1
That's kind of a relief; the Trained Snarler is just so dinky. It's like you washed it accidentally in hot water and it shrunk. My gnome's the only one that looks good on it and that's 'cause of the gnomish mount-magnification trait.
I do wish they'd fix the boar run to be more like the pet/wild version instead of the stiff legged direhorn shuffle.

someday I'll find someplace to host a sig that isn't stupid money-grubbing photobucket

Those little legs go so fast it looks like it has about 20 of them under there!Nachtwulf wrote:I do wish they'd fix the boar run to be more like the pet/wild version instead of the stiff legged direhorn shuffle.

Re: Wolf mounts larger in 6.1
I'm glad about the size, but the speed, goodness it does need fixing. It makes them look like they got in to some coffee or wolf-nip.
It bothers me a lot .. XD
I was so happy to get my trained snarler, But then when I rode it all I could think was "what".
Granted it's not TERRIBLE, but still.

Re: Wolf mounts larger in 6.1
some of the wolf mounts dont really scale with the user, ive got the trained and the dustmane. tried the trained on a few smaller female races, and they kind of do a weird spazzy run like its had a truck load of coffee and go hyper active with its feet. its like watching sonic the hedgehog doing his runs XD
and yay they are making them scale! hopefully they wont do that weird run speed on any race now >.<

Re: Wolf mounts larger in 6.1
I was in Lore's Guild and i reported these wolves several several times on wow forums and finally on the warcraftdevs twitter, i even made front page on mmo with my printscreen complaining about the wolves and making a comparisson, good thing they fixed it!
