AHHHH hunters are getting epic eagle mounts!!!!!!!!!!!
NEVERMIND I assumed eagles but it's some sort of....I don't know. Wolf bird hybrid. But still! Class mounts!

It's like some werewolf-gryphon thing. I love it.

The animations of the wolf thingy seemed alike to Dominance Offensive's wyverns - running, mount special, wing flaps, etc.

The second "hidden" bunch of appearances (Serpentbite, etc.) will become available at 7.2 - as a part of epic "solo skill challenge.

I saw that and was like...... "I've fought those before somewhere.."

I honestly have to admit that I love ALL of those class mounts. I truly do. I can't wait to get my hands on the Hunter one though. But Priest and Druid's was gorgeous too. HOT DANG.

Time to get my alts leveled.

ALSO, sounds like we'll be getting our traps back 8D TO ALL SPECS.

Am I being ungrateful if I said that I want that as a tamable hunter pet too?

I still feel like anything 'new' for Hunters get's half-assed. Looking at the mount, I'm thinking it's going to have the same skeleton/animations and the newer wind rider, and thus have all the same weird folding and clipping issues that make me cringe (armored one isn't as bad, as the armor covers some things) and those stiff braids remind of the Troll Druid Cat form cement braids they STILL have. Every time my Cat stretched while leveling I died a little inside.

I'm so disappointed in the hunter mount honestly. It's just not really to my tastes, and the worst part is that the liveblog I was watching said EAGLES when the class mounts were first announced so I immediately expected that for the hunter one (especially since eagles have been so prevalent for them this expansion). I guess maybe they were talking about the rogue raven mount?

And then we just get this....ugly wolf hybrid thing. :/

Sighs, oh well, I'm used to being disappointed by hunter themed things, they never appeal to me for the most part.

To be fair, there was not 1 new skeleton I saw.

Druid= Panda Phoenix/Ji Kun Skele
Warrior = Proto Drake
Priest = Gryphon
Mage = Cloud Disk
Rogue = Druid flight form and most any other bird now
Shaman = It's flying is that of a flying felbat, but then that is new this expansion

I don't know how I feel about the hunter mount. It's definitely nice, though I'm confused what it is... and how it fits hunter. I guess I was just hoping for a giant eagle (I mean come on, we already ride them everywhere) or a decked out bear with pelts & quivers hanging from it. Though seeing a flying bear would be quite a sight.

I'm just insanely jealous of the priest, rogue & death knight mounts... Ravens are my favorite animal, so now getting one for all classes is pretty slim. And the priest is just so unique and pretty. Also a shame some classes are getting a third class mount now, while others are only getting their first.

I'm mostly excited about this though: "Only allowing Survival Hunters to have traps was a mistake. Other specs don't feel like a Hunter when they don't have traps."

Essentially:

- Patch 7.1.5 (coming to a PTR soon) will see the return of the Brawler's Guild. As well as new bosses and types of fights, we can expect a new mount reward : the Rockspine Basilisk.

- Patch 7.2 will see new Class Order Hall quests, the culmination of which will reward a unique class mount.

I suppose this makes up for the extreme lack of mounts at launch eh? Though it's a shame there are so many pretty, unique models I can't use on my main

My thoughts so far...

There are some interesting and creative mount choices, and also a few I'm not as inspired by.


The Hunter mount is some kind of strange new beast: a bear-wolf-bird thing! it can fly.

If I was a Paladin I'd be annoyed. I think the mount looks pretty much like every other Paladin mount and lacks the imagination of most of the other class mounts. Come on guys, you can come up with something better than just another frakking horse




The other one I'm unhappy with is the Shaman. There are a number of elemental bird possibilities, but instead we're dumped ungraciously atop a humanoid air elemental.



Does anyone else cringe every time we get a mount where we ride it with the "surfie dude" animation? Or is it just me? :/

I can't decide whether some of these mounts are amazing or just weird, prime example being the hunter one. I would have sworn it would be the eagle. The owl mount for priests is another. Part of me loves it, but there's something a little disconcerting about it.

Paladins and warlocks got a bit of a raw deal I think. Their mounts are so similar to what they already have. The mage one for me is rather boring.

Warriors get a friggin' dinosaur, rogues get a raven, demon hunters get the fel bat. Couldn't pick a favourite. Then the DK mount rolled in. Winner hands down for me. All you other mounts go home (I know it's basically a fel vanquisher but it's sooo awesome).

Yeah, seeing that nice, updated model under the pally mount's armor makes me really want updates for the human mounts. Even though I'm horde.

I'm kinda perplexed by the hunter mount. I will wait to see the model before deciding if I like it or not.
The priest is awesome. Too bad I don't have a priest. Mage is.. well, classic. I like the new proto-drake of the warriors. I guess paladins and warlocks have the short stick because they already have class mounts. ('tho I really like the warlock one). I hope there will be color variations, like the weapons ! So maybe we could have a dark owl for the drood, who will fit nicely with the effect on the wings. And also for the Horde Paladins who maybe don't want to ride with Alliance colors, haha. DK and rogue is great too, I think !
