Number of wild pet colour variants

Out of interest, I went through WCP's lists (I'll also post this on their forums) and worked out the number of colour variants available for every wild pet they had listed. Some might be wrong. I've found a couple where they were missing a colour, and it's always possible there's more. But anyway, if we were allowed to capture every colour of every wild pet (which we can't because of the 3-cap) it would add up to around 408 pets. Given there's something like 265 other pets, that adds up to slightly more than our 650 cap.

Unfortunate part being that we can only have 3 max of any one pet type so seeing some with 8 makes me hurt inside.

Great list! I thought I was pretty thorough in taming at least one of each skin (I have all 3 parrot exclusive colors, at least 1 of each beetle) but now I see I'm missing 6 skins! Time to look for a beige larva, beige chicken, white mirror strider, red beaver, and of course the two sumprush rodent colors once I get the commendations for it.

Parrot: 8

The thing is, of all the tameable parrots, I've only seen three colors my own self: white, brown, and red. The three unique colors. It might just be my luck, but I could not find 'Parrot' mobs in any of the other shades any more. The blue seems to have been made unique to the Macaw. The green and yellow is unique to Polly. Et cetera.

I might be wrong on this, but that is my experience.

Yes, the only mention I've seen of the other skins was for parrots that were color-changers. I'll go ahead and change it to 3.

So the only pet with > 4 skins is now the Silky Moth with 6. Like the Parrot, I wonder if it really that many colours. In this case I actually think it may.

I know several of them definitely have 4, although I never found one that had *more* than 4 when I went hunting for screenshots on the PTR (hey, we all gotta have hobbies). Silky Moths having 6, though, I'm not sure. I only remember finding 4 of them being tameable: beige, white, grey, and blue.

Pretty sure Silky Moth only comes in 4 colours, not 6, and Swamp Moth def. comes in 4 colours not 2.

Updated: Crunchy Scorpion comes in 4 colours, not 3. WCP was missing the "black with orange spots" version.
Also Mountain Cottontail comes in 4 colours. As reported in another thread, it comes in both shiny and flat white versions.
