Baa'l the demon goat found

Unread post by Magnakilro »

Surprised no one's posted about this but the Secret Finders have found Baa'l!

Here's how to get your own! https://warcraft-secrets.com/guides/baal/

Note that every guide I've seen is very coord-heavy, making it a bit annoying working out where things are if you're like me and run without any coord-based add ons.

Also, make sure you have Uuna with her secret story completed for this, or a friend who's accomplished it as you'll need it for the actual battle against him.

I recommend one very simply called "Coordinates" All it does is put some unobtrusive coords by your minimap and at the top of the large map. Makes life alot easier

I think I was so excited on the day of discovery I didn't even think to post anything here.

TomTom is another extremely useful addon I'd recommend, you can plot markers on your maps with ease. Even if you prefer not to use a lot of addons, I'd say it would be worth getting even just temporarily for this chain. :)

Part of it is in Boralus? Can Horde players do that bit without getting PvP flagged? Dang, and I never did the Uuna stuff.

Yeah a few of the pebbles are in Boralus. If you are referring specifically to the one hidden under the hedge maze, none of the guards/mobs down there are Alli-flagged, so you're fine there.

Ah. Cool I've not worked on an Alliance character yet, so I didn't know if Boralus had Alliance-flagged npcs. Thanks!

Just be warned that that particular pebble DOES have like 4-6 guards in the same room so unless you got invisibility pots, get ready for a brawl XD.

Also, it looks like the Secret Finders have figured out Baa'l's last clue...and boy howdy is it involved!

I made a stab at it over the weekend. I'm stuck at the Nazmir pebble that's on the ship. Unfortunatley, I don't have the Underlight Angler, so I tried to make due with the Kaluak fishing pole (for water breathing) and potions (tried with both swim speed potions and whatever the one is that turns you into a Jinyu and gives you 200% swimming speed). I'd die to fatigue before I could get to the boat and my spirit would die to it trying to get back to my corpse. How're folks getting to that one?

What I did was ride out as close to it as possible on a water strider, then use my chosen swim speed boost (in my case the Angler) to swim down to the boat. Note that the pebble is on the backside of the ship, not on the deck.

I have heard that the food that turns you into a fish is one of the fastest speeds.

Good thing is that this one is actually the harder of the two fatigue pebbles (imo) as the other one has a non-fatigue safe zone like right on top of it.

I'm a bit late to this party, and have completed the first 12 pebbles. Looks like I'll need to download TomTom for the 13th pebble? I don't know how I'd be able to figure out where to go otherwise?

TomTom is a very lightweight addon, and honestly it's so handy to have I would say it's worth picking up regardless. :) I use it myself for many things, and being able to plot your own markers in-game can be super helpful.

Thanks Veph, TomTom worked great for the pebble--is there some way to move the coords display? It defaults to an awkward place on my minimap and that's my only complaint about the addon.

Glad it helped! I'm not sure about the coordinates display, I've never had to move it so I haven't looked into it. I don't think I've ever done much to the addon besides unpacking it, but the forum page for it might be more helpful. :)

Update: was able to reposition it during a pet battle, when the mini-map disappears from the UI :)
