The Beast Check-In! [UPDATE: No longer ?? Boss :( - Page 3]

I don't know about any one else, but my "The Beast" has started showing it's level as opposed to a skull...
I noticed this after a faction swap - any one else noticed it?

@Darknez - If you still have it, go to your armory page and look at the source code to make sure it's still "The Beast". Mine is still functioning on live, though I don't know if you're speaking about live.

Still shows skull / -1 on my dwarf, in live.

I wouldn't have posted it in the Cataclysm forum if I was. I'd also love to have an armory page for beta characters!
This "The Beast" was tamed by my copied character whilst on the beta. Initially it showed a skull/-1 for it's level. I don't know if it's just the character faction swap that's broken it - but without the armory page I can't see if the faction swap also "swaps" your pet for a generic red core hound.

I might need to go back and tame another one and see what happens - unless someone else does that first

I just tamed The Beast on beta and he had no skull where his level was, and I didn't even see his "Boss" tag anymore.

Do all Corehounds have the shoulder/leg armor and chains? I have never noticed it before.

On a semi-related note... if taming King Krush is anywhere as easy as The Beast was... =)

I can't log into Kalliope on the PTR for some reason, so I copied over Kallimon. DaBeast still has his boss tag and ?? level on mouseover, though his true level (72 at the moment) shows in the stable.

I've never had a Core Hound of any kind in live or beta, what is this "special stuff" opposed to any other one? I see the skull icon after his tame, but other than that I dunno, is there anything else I'm missing? (usually there is) =}

It's just on beta then. I retamed him on the PTR and both the new and old puppies have the boss tag.

Oh...and I one-shot this tame, even solo on Kallimon. He's only gained two levels since I tamed DaBeast, and I had help then. I love the taming buffs.

I just ran in, backed up against a wall, and started the tame.

DaBeast = my already tamed Beast
DaBeauty = my newly tamed Beast (and standin for her future self)

It's still just The Beast in there.

Confirmed, I just checked in on my Hubris on the PTR and he's still got his little skull. Guess I'd better enjoy that one while I can then!

Is Ancient Hysteria the pet's ability? If so, could it be possible to have two corehounds and just switch them out for one that's not on cooldown?

They both give the Sated debuff on the player, so there's no point to doing it, since the players wouldn't benefit from it.

I have yet to see if this conflicts with the heroism (exhausted) debuff.

I'll honestly be upset if beast loses his boss ?? tag. That wouldn't be very cool of Blizz in my opinion.
So am I to understand that in Cata beta it's gone but still shows in the PTR?

It did show at some point of the beta, but isn't on the current build. Worth checking again in the next patch.

I just went and checked The Beast's status on Beta. I, uh, found out why your pets are missing their boss tag. In the wild (so to speak) he's not a boss anymore. Just a regular level 60 elite.
