Silithid Swarmer = Silithid Worker Model?

Unread post by Darknez »

I know the blue Silithid Creeper/Swarmer skins don't appear to have been found yet.

However... I just used Cata.WoWhead to look at the 3D models of each.
The Creeper looks as you'd expect it. The Swarmer however looks like a tan Silithid worker? (AurokkSkinTan)
http://cata.wowhead.com/npc=3252#modelviewer

Very strange! Anyone tamed a Silithid Swarmer on live and copied it across to beta to see what it looks like?
If not, I may just try and find out...

*Holds hands to his head* Nooooooooooo! Not another Haarka/Soriid story! Nooo D;>..

I am not even gonna wish this time, those brainbugs getting removed broke my hopes, don't make me fall in love with another possible unintended pet. That's just cruel ;'(

Unfortunately I can't test it either way. I deleted a hunter that I'd already copied, but it won't let me re-copy it again.
Only option is to level a new hunter to test it, but I really don't feel like it at the moment :P

Now that I remember... the new quests in Southern Barrens include burning Silithid mounds, which releases a "swarm" of untameable Silithid Swarmer's after you.
These are the same model that cata.wowhead.com is showing.

Same name, possibly same ID - but different stats.

I'd so totally squeeee if Blizzard gave use these as pets, it would be a good start to making up for Mr. Tickling.. he was so young! : (

Joke. Ofcourse Blizz needn't make up for their choices, but really. Silithids deserve more love.

1 skin. WAT.

The other concern is that we haven't found the blue scorpid skin anywhere else - that means only people with the Scorpid Creeper would keep the blue skin once Cataclysm hits (assuming the Silithid Swarmer has changed).

Damn, I feel selfish for saying this, but imo New Silithid Skin > Other color scorpid tbh imo.. though. I am sure Blizz will add new :)!

God, daaaamn. I am gonna get flamed for this.

Oh.. I am dense! Just as I was about to create a new troll hunter and get it to 21/22 quickly to tame and test - I remember I have a 3rd hunter that I've not copied yet!

Will tame and test shortly and let you know soon.

Hmm nice models, I assume they are in Uldum or the instance in Uldum?

Yep. Uldum. They are called Uldumscarabteal and Uldumscarabtan. I swear, if Blizz makes those tamable. I will love Blizz FOR-EVER. And yay! I love you too for looking for us! But even if it does change.. Blizz will probably remove it. Sorry for being a pessimist, but my hopes are well.. slightly crushed..

Those are gorgeous scarab models! Wow. =O

I still see no reason not to add a little variety to the Silithid family. 4 skins is dull (and I know there's many other pet families that suffer from this as well). Look at some families like cats, wolves, spiders....each one has a whole bunch of different models. Blizzard could definitely add a few scarab/worker types into the Silithid family. Would liven it up a bit. :)

Yeah they do look really cool skins - a few other species need that kind of love! :)
Right.. tamed Swarmer on my 3rd hunter. Copy pending...

Update:
Argh... Failed again. Even though it says I have 5 copies remaining I am being prevented to copy any more
Sorry, I can't do anything to test this theory

I've already tried that :(
Even if I delete one I already copied (which was my second hunter) I can't re-copy it or any other character.

bluddy, if you're having errors after updating try deleting the CACHE folders (theres on in \World of Warcraft Beta\ and one in \World of Warcraft Beta\Data\). That fixes a lot of crashes that happened since patching.

I guess they changed a lot of things that meant the previous build cache was "corrupt".
