does one need an healer at lvl 81 to tame him? can he be polymorphed or anything? ^^ or is he just tameable without trrap and nothing special..;since i've heard the trap doesn't work

Do you have a source on that? I never got to test a trap as it was on cooldown after I wasted one. I just didn't want to risk waiting.

I am curious to whether or not it can be trapped, I will have to sit and camp him once I ding 81 on my hunter. Knowing he can dish out some hits when taming, I would be totally bummed if he killed me lol.

Uh, well so far, here's my hourly totals. Had a friend keep watch for me, and it looks like he spawned at 23hours. No, I didn't tame him, I was watchin Blizzcon. /beats self

He's another frakin Arcturis. I would bet money that he's gonna be a spirit beast.

Lol, I'm keeping an eye out for him as well, though I'm not in Beta too frequently. xD

I so want this as a pet!

YAY!!! FIRE TURTLES!!!

After 2 days of logging in and checking I just tamed him on EU server.

Logged in during lunch break and didn't see anything on minimap, took one ride around the keep and just as I was about to log out he spawned below me. Panicked because I forgot to abandon current pet, and then put down a trap instead of using the launcher. Of course his attack is ranged so he got nowhere near the trap.

If only this had been live .....

Traps do not work on this guy! I just tamed him, and I'd had rez sickness from being a bit too nosy about Garr patting around north of the Spire. I lived with less than 10k health, and that was after using Spirit Mend on myself before dismissing Myst. As it stands, taming him on an 81 would be impossible without massive heals or haste - or both.

Terrorpene was patting about in the area south of the Spire. I'm pretty sure he spawned right there, because he wasn't around when I logged in, but after I came back to the spot from checking Garr, there he was.

Oh, and he's awesome. But that goes without saying.

edit: As a side note, I'd found a different rarespawn in Hyjal some hours earlier. It was a phoenix named Blazewing. Sadly, it was classified as an elemental, so definitely out as a tameable.

Oh wow, nice find on that phoenix! Shame it's not a beast It looks like a number of rares have gone in in this last patch, not only the tameable ones. There's a mean giant in Twilight Highlands with a squid on his head that sprayed me with acid and the squid shot me with laser beams. Needless to say, he squished me like a bug in seconds. But he is classed as a boss level rare elite

P.S. thanks for confirming that Terrorpene isn't trappable. I think you're the first person to report that.

Yeah, Garr and the one you mention in the Twilight Highlands are supposed to be extremely tough, 5-mannable rare bosses.

On a side note, Blazewing's loot was BoP. It looks like rarespawn loot isn't going to be AH-able this expansion...if so, I thank Blizzard from the bottom of my heart, because it means less people camping tameable rarespawns for their drops.

Definitely a shame on the phoenix, I've always wanted one. But we can't win em all, and we certainly got handed a fistful of awesome with Terrorpene.
