Shango, Rak'shiri, Shadowclaw--New NPC ID?
As per title--does anyone know if Rak'shiri, Shadowclaw and Shango (who are apparently being changed to White Riding Tiger, Riding Black Tiger & Riding Tiger skins/models, respectively) keep their NPC IDs?
I have ALWAYS wanted a riding tiger model, and I will get & pre-level Shango if they're keeping their IDs.
Any idea?

From what I've been told, their ID's stay the same, which means their models should change.
However, I have not tried copying my wee baby hunter to the beta with these cats, so I can't confirm. Anyone out there who'd be willing to try it? I can't seem to be able to make a PTR copy anymore. ._. The site keeps telling me i've had "too many attempts".

I have copied my character (as I already had Rak'shiri) and yes, he automatically changes over. The same for Shango, the SM tracking hounds, Shadowclaw and Duskstalker.

Wait... Where does it read the tracking hyenas are changing into mastiffs? O.O

The red hyenas were one of the first changed discoveries found early in the beta. Scarlet Monastery now employs mastiffs as their tracking hounds, and as far as we know they share the same ID number. So....all of our red hyenas might become mastiffs in live until we can tame the higher level ones.

I can't remember the exact thread, but yeah, the only red hyena will now be a rare iirc, and the old ones are changing over. Shame, he was one of my first (and favorite) pets, but the whole back/hair thing's still broken so I don't really use him anyway : /
Oh, I just abandoned my Mangle pet.
Oops.

Edit: Veph beat me to it

Looks like I'm gonna have to retame my hyena then. Love the red skin. But, oh well, if that's how it goes, I'm not gonna complain. I do like the mastiffs as well.
But I also think that's actually a pretty fitting change. The dogs fit the Scarlets better than hyenas. Probably also a good example why bliz isn't going to lengths with changing the ID's though.. =/ Might be too much work. I'd really love to know how the whole thing works for them thou.
But, does this mean the dog whistle hyena is turning into a mastiff as well? :O

Good question, tbh; I'd wonder.
And yeah, I definitely think hounds fit better than hyenas in a lot of places. I just really will miss my Styx

Now I need a name befitting an orange Saber Tiger! Is King reserved?
I can't wait till he's orange. Meanwhile, he sure looks good with my guild tabard
Does anyone know if Shango is male or female, according to the quests?

Re: Shango, Rak'shiri, Shadowclaw--New NPC ID?
Shango is the name of an African god of lightning and thunder, the Sky Father. Though the name does sound feminine to our ears, it's definitely based on a male.
Re: Shango, Rak'shiri, Shadowclaw--New NPC ID?
Shango I always thought was a female, probably cause it sounds like Sango (the character from Inu-Yasha) XD
Anyways YES. The whistle summons mastiffs now, no longer hyenas.

Grumble. Looks like I'm going to have to retame a red hyena for this toon. I grabbed Giggler one night to try him out. While I love him, I like the red skin with my hunter the best. I think it's that she has red hair too.
I'm a sad panda.

The common mob red hyenas in Uldum are tameable as of this current build.

Re: Shango, Rak'shiri, Shadowclaw--New NPC ID?
Eh... I'm going to give the mastiffs a chance. While I much prefer plague hounds and am not too keen on doubling up on pet families with all the new options available, I still went out and tamed a SM hyena just so I could have a mastiff right off the bat and give him a shot.
Surprisingly, I'm not as excited for foxes as I thought I would be. Initially I was more or less pissing myself with glee, but now I'm kind of indifferent toward them. We'll see how my stables end up, possibly fox-less.

One question for Beta players: Does the Vargul Blighthound switch to the Dog family, or does it remain a wolf?
