I would have to say my hardest tame would be the flaming pig and the oiled wolf. The pig was a major pain, ended up buying a shit load of caster gear with haste on it plus some haste pots. Took me two days to finally get the tame perfect but it was worth it. I get some many people asking where I got him and how did I manage to keep the fire on him. But oddly enough my stabbed-in-the-head-forever-puppy gets more attention. My guildies call my Tamakins pre-cooked bacon and many call my puppy half-dead-forever. But the pig is still tameable from that quest. Just before you finish the tame spam revive pet. Just make sure you tamed a temp pet and abandon it first so the revive pet doesn't mess up your tame.

Some say Legion will be the downfall of WoW, I disagree. WoD was the downfall and Legion will be there to raise WoW from the dead.

Gezzarak was a pain back at 72. I tried to tame her as soon as I could but my friends didn't understand how taming works and would keep getting aggro and killing her. Few days later she was made untameable. Made me so ticked off. >(

However my temp green warpstalker I tamed I ended up falling in love with and was my one and only tanking pet until the Shattering when he lost warp and I tamed a turtle instead. I miss tanking with Hirameku but he always has a place in my stables, and if I pvp it's usually him I bring now.

Or back on topic right now, this may seem silly, but those crocs and spiders in Tol Barad are a pain to tame on high population servers. Had a friend that wanted a croc for pvp and since those where already 85, he tried to tame those and everyone kept on killing his tames even after he tagged them! Blah to tameable beasts being a part of daily quests.

I managed a perfect tame with the oiled wolf on my first try but the spells wouldnt stick to the bars so i abandoned and.. 2 hours and 3 rounds of clearing every single pool of wolves later, i finally got him again but the spells still wouldnt stick to the bars.. i ignored it for a bit but it bugged me too much :/

Gezzerak was a pain at 76, i solo tamed and the first time she killed me quite quickly and i was barely alive the second round with her. She was the most popular thing in all of Org till the word finally spread over most of the community (tamed her the very first day she was able to be tamed once more)

I think theeeeee worst pets eeeever to get are ones where your in a PuG and your group members kill all the beasts that are the model your trying to tame. Yes im talking to you Deadmines. Damn druid killed Ol' Beaky and i lvled up when he crawled back up and cleared a coupl pirates and cound no longer que for the dungeon ;_; I wanted to try out the grey parrot cause he looked really adorable..

I only responded with what I did because you made it seem like you were giving directions for people who wish to do that as well.
I was only trying to prevent people from trying to tame it the way that Blizz no longer wishes us to.
I don't want anyone banned because they followed directions that could cause them to get in trouble.

There's some vague wording bouncing around right now, so just to make things clear:

http://forums.wow-petopia.com/viewtopic ... 07#p201107
  • The methods listed in the first two links there still work and are still okay to use, as far as we know.
  • Any effect that gives your pet an advantage over others (like a damage debuff) is a no-no.
  • Use common sense when it comes to cosmetic/appearance changes. If it affects gameplay in some way, you'll probably get in trouble. If not, you should be fine.
Follow these guidelines wisely and you won't get banned.

Workaround for spells not sticking to the bars on glitch-tames...talent pet at least to dash/dive. Dash/dive goes in first unoccupied slot. Drag desired skill in place of dash/dive and it'll stick. Untalent and repeat with second unoccupied slot. Rinse and repeat until all slots are full.

Stumbled onto this after much freaking out because I couldn't figure out how I got Growl on my carrion ghost's bar, but couldn't get anything else to stick. XD

I want to underscore, emphasize and reiterate what was clarified for us by Noah and Wain:

There is nothing wrong with taming pets by using a glitch to get them with unusual and pretty graphics. You cannot get banned for that.

What is wrong is taming and using pets which retain any pre-tame buffs that give you an unfair advantage over other players. This is a direct violation of the WoW Terms of Use.

However, you're still unlikely to be banned unless you get reported. So don't do it.

Again, in the simplest terms:

It's not how you tame.

It's what you tame, and what for.

Ghostcrawler was a menace to tame because of his vanishing act. There were a lot of people about trying to find him too so that added to the suspense :)

Hello by the way :)

I don't mean to go off topic, but your sig is too big. :)
The max allowed here is 800x300.
I suspected as much and I've tried chopping it down but photoshop's not cooperating with me. ;P Back to the drawing board!

Anyway, I've read up on Terrorpene and I have to say he sounds like a nightmare to tame. Totally worth it though, for a turtle that drools lava. :headbang:

For me it's Terrorpene too. he hits hard even if you are 85. Krush was no problem for me at 77 because a priest helped me.

Before cata, where you couldn't fly in azeroth, it was Spiteflayer, i had problems with the tame because he flies to high and was out of tame and shot range. You must be right under him to tame him.

I tamed Krush on 2 different 80s (ilvl 240 and 220 or thereabouts - don't remember exactly but the first one was mostly wearing 232s and 251s whilst the second was a mix of 219s and 200s), didn't use corehounds or any other special tricks, just walked up and hit tame... was expecting to become a dino-shaped footprint based on everything I'd read about this guy, but surprisingly it went without a hitch - didn't even get feared. This was after the 10 second tame though, so that may have been the reason why it went so smoothly...

*face twitch*
He.. Flies up high?
I've never ran into the bugger during my game time, and I never realized to look up whenever I was camping for him. *rolls head on keyboard*

As for the hardest tame, right now Terrorpene. I would say Madexx, but his tame comes nowhere close to challenging (the camp however... >.< ).
