Karoma Camo

Just as a matter of interest...

Pre-4.1, Karoma did not show while Camouflaged (regardless of Prowl), like so:

Now (s)he has a camo effect, but it looks a bit... off. I compared it to the other wolves, and this is the result:

Guessing it's due to how the texture is applied to Karoma's model, although I could be completely wrong. Not complaining, just find it interesting

Hmm....looks like that odd White Wolf with the texture problem in Model Viewer. 'Arctic' I think? Regardless, very odd behaviour indeed ^^

Do Ghost Wolves have the same behaviour as Karoma, or is she alone with this behaviour? =)

theres some sort of model bug with effects on a skin, my shale spider has a big white square where its eyes glow (when its camo'd), its so annoying

and the karoma in camo seems to have alot of those squares

I think its invisible pixels that are the cause, in Karoma she has chunks of her turned invisible or shaved so it gives her the spectral effect, i have tried to draw such effect many times (i was completely enthralled with the Plains Spirit from Mulgore during vanilla) and i had to make my model bigger and shave it down (erase, im on paper and pencil) to get the effect i wanted, it could be they used the Arctic model to create the spectre wolf form (also if you look at her body, it looks like its made out of cones and as you get to the end of the cone, it begins to fade into nothing)

Shale Spiders i cant really figure out except that it may be originally a square and they carved diamond shapes from that square

-shrug- i know nothing about 3D models except that they have a base skeleton and are made of pixels this is all my guess from looking at pictures

My ghost wolf had the same behavior (pre patch) as Karoma, where he'd disappear completely. Not sure if it still applies now. But I'll check!

Confirmed, Grimtotem Spirit Guides act the same way in camo.

ive been noticing little odd things (holes in sheets, a few models that have flames but viewer shows them as blocks)... the model is bigger then the end result but they're making things like that transparent, flames are a great example (been lookin' at fandral and the firehawks on MMO-Champion i think it was) and i noticed a bed sheet flying in the wind with a gaping hole in the Worgen start ground and i could see tht there was structure where the hole was but you cant visibly see it cause its been erased for transparency

My Jadefang goes into camo with a big ol' transparent block on her head. It's probably true for all shale spiders since they all have the 'glowy' patch over their eyes.
