Eh, Gorillas talk in-game, so I don't think that's a game-breaker.

I love the carrion swarm idea, but I'd be just as happy having them as an addition to the Silithid family!

Really? I never noticed.

If what you say is true, then you might have averted any argument against them being tameable.

Only one does and it's when you are a Gorilla your self.

The only talking gorilla are when you have to observe the wildlife through the eyes of a beast yourself via titan mechanics run by a titan construct-guardian-chick (i really dont know what her model's classified as).

I do have to say though.... i find it absolutly hilarious theres a Mammoth that speaks to you. He's even stated that he's 'as wise as he is ancient' which makes him even more hilarious cause theres no background on him for us to understand why he talks to us and why he's supposedly an ancient being (ancient in this game goes far beyond the lifespan of an ordinary mammoth so he must be empowered in some way by a greater force).

Saw dem nerubian beast models, they look like they would use the model that um.. first boss in the temple of ahn'quiraj uses? its the big pink bug guy that makes copies of himself... thats what the nerubian beast model reminds me of. Except they look very beastly but they actually look very intelligent. Id even place them higher then ordinary guards or scouts, like, i could easily see them as priests, warlocks, and warrior commanders.

I'm with most here, I really Image these little guys. For me, I think it's 90% to do with their animations, they are just so well done imo. If Blizzard some how managed to attach their animations to a different model/beast that became tamable? (or even mount ;) ) I would still be over the moon. They just make me so happy to watch, with all their little twitches and animations, can't get enough of them.

EDIT: Thanks to Wain, this is now merged with the original thread, as it never really needed a second one.

My incredible fascination with animal-like Nerubians started with the Flyers and the Spiderlings, but increased greatly when I got a chance to look at the incomplete Nerubian Beast Model that has no animations (Images can be found in other thread). If they were to add in tameable variations added in, then I and a lot of other people would be very happy hunters. Let's begin, shall we?

Nerubian Beast
Ferocity.
Exotic.
Diet - Meat, Fungus, Fruit, Bread, Fish, Cheese.
Note: They enjoy rotting material as food.
Bonus Ability? No.

Special Ability.
Image
Deathly Projectile
- 1 Minute Cooldown.
- Instant.

Your Nerubian Beast will pick up a nearby corpse of an enemy player/mob that you have killed. Once you engage in combat again, the Nerubian Beast will hurl that corpse at the new target, knocking them down for 5 seconds.

Exotic Ability.
Image
Undead Corruption
- 10 Minute Cooldown.
- Instant.
- Lasts for 10 seconds.

Your Nerubian Beast bites into the target, turning them into an undead nerubian. While this is active, the target cannot attack you or your pet, but can attack anything else (Players can attack players of both factions). Everything that is attacked by the corrupted victim will be corrupted as well, and can cause quite the large horde of undead if not used carefully.

Any thoughts?

Crotallus, your above post really didn't need a second thread! :)

Merging it back into this one.

Thanks Wain. I really didn't think it needed a second thread to begin with, but hey, it's now merged with this one in the way it should have been.

Out of ALL the words I could have misspelled, I misspelled HEY.

As for my own input, I've always loved those flyers and I wished they could be tameable beasts. They are very ugly-cute. So I was very disappointed when I came across a quest line in western Dragonblight where the Scourge are attacking a Taunka village. There's a big flyer guy there yelling out and taunting the Taunka (tongue twister!) in perfect, intelligible sentences. Now it could be argued that since it's Scourge it could have some sort of malevolent spirit residing in it, but usually Scourge creatures seem to demonstrate similar levels of sapience to their living counterparts. Scourgified beasts don't usually talk. So I'm guessing they DO intend Nerubian flyers to be sapient beings.

As for the talking mammoth, I think he's just another of those rare cases where very specific beasts become powers, or perhaps they always were for some reason. Like the monstrous, talking, demi-god sea-snails. Or Tortolla and his fish-wife of a turtle-wife. Or the Wandering Isle :)

And did they fix that talking gorilla? You used to still be able to chat with it after it was tamed. A bit disturbing really ;)

demi-god sea snails o_O

And i lol'd at the tortolla n wife one. Cant even remember his comments during the escort but ive always found the whole scenario hilarious, and the idea that his wife is in a bath robe with hair curlers and over-applied lipstick nagging at him for drifting so far off into the desert XD (like seriously, he was over where you follow the caravan to Uldum!)

Hoho! A fellow Primeval fan, perhaps?
Slightly off-topic, but: I'd love an ingame worm that looks like that.

Anyway, it would be great to revisit some of the older expansions' content and add some new stuff every now and then -- not in place of new high-level content, but just something for some teams to work on when they're not 100% busy.
Adding tameable nerubian creatures would be a wonderful addition to the dungeons and caverns of Northrend.
