Permanent Fire Pets
Ok so a while ago I said I found someone (really sorry I wrote their name down somewhere, I'll post it as soon as I find it) who figured out how to make ANY pet a flame ball of smokey fire and I have CONFIRMED it stays for dismiss/player death/pet death. Here's how it works in the Townlong Steps, about mid way in, there are quests to kill/shoot down and burn bug people (forgot what they are called) but the burn the dead bug quest gives an item by the name of Cremating Torch. Once you get it have your pet die ( ) use the torch on your pet them rez. Thats it. But the EPA may disapprove of how much smoke the pets emit. Here are some pics.
Edit: Woot, I got it to post, give me a min or 2 to get pics. And a very sneaky Skarr

Just grabbing things in the area but if anyone wants me to do a pet while they are leveling to see what it will look like I can do that too. - Rawr

Damn. I won't be able to get the pet. I have to level my main first. :-/. What's the name of the quest?

Re: Permanent Fire Pets
Which torch sets them on fire, the torch used during the quest or after which is a reward? After looks like you can just pay someone to kill your pet in a duel outside org, then torch it, right? You don't have to level at all.Rawr wrote:Found it http://www.wowhead.com/item=88589WildcatTM wrote:Damn. I won't be able to get the pet. I have to level my main first. :-/. Re: Permanent Fire Pets
It's the rewarded torch for completing the quest. And yes you could have someone kill your pet in a duel and use the torch on it.

Re: Permanent Fire Pets
Well blizz just said they issued hotfixes now....I doubt we'll have these for long.
Re: Permanent Fire Pets
Mmm.. I don't think a purely aesthetic thing like this that only one class bothers with (actually, has anyone tried warlock pets?) is the first on Bliz's chopping block for an expansion hotfix roll. Not saying it will never be fixed, but I doubt it's a OMG MUST FIX NOW WARRHGKJHKJ issue. Took them ages to even fix the first method, which actually could be used for damage exploitation. I don't see why they'd bother wiping the pets either, since it's not hurting anything. If anything, it makes the pets MORE noticeable and likely to be attacked in PVP, unlike the unclickable pool of fire.Jessibelle wrote:Well blizz just said they issued hotfixes now....I doubt we'll have these for long.

Re: Permanent Fire Pets
If it was a little firepatch like the old ones, then yes that would get hotfixed asap. We'll see. Firey things are spiffy!

Re: Permanent Fire Pets
I'm curious...
what if you do this, but end up not liking the fire effect on a particular pet. Is there a mechanism for removing it?

A bit of palindromic wisdom:
"Step on no pets!"
Casual player.. don't raid, don't PvP. Suffer from extreme altitis
I love pets - combat or non.

Re: Permanent Fire Pets
Considering it's insanely bright and can bother other players on that alone, it might end up on the chopping block pretty quickly. So enjoy it while it lasts. Remember Blizz already hotfixed the other ones and it was recorded in a previous topic, which includes the oil stained wolves.

Re: Permanent Fire Pets
Yes.. you enter an arena or rated BG with the pet, the buff will be removed.Sukurachi wrote:I'm curious...

Re: Permanent Fire Pets
They took away the ability to do certain glitch tames. My oil stained wolf is still just fine and hasn't changed. And as far as this trick... It's not any brighter than most any other fire in the game. Judging from your two posts in this thread, you're a real glass is half empty kind of person huh?Jessibelle wrote:Considering it's insanely bright and can bother other players on that alone, it might end up on the chopping block pretty quickly.
