Should there be more mount/armored pets?
Last few days I have wondered, should there be more pets for hunters that use either mount or armored models, and I finally decided to ask your opinion. To avoid confusion, I quickly separate these to types.
Mounts
As name implies, these are mostly beasts with saddle on their back. Because we already have Drak'thalon raptors, I include both "epic" and "normal" mount models for this.
Examples:
Armored
These in turn are pets that, surprise surprise, have armor. I'm not including pets that have armor and saddle with them (see above). These pets are pretty rare at the moment in game, but more could be added.
Examples:
Note: Druid model is there only to give you picture what armored cat could look like in theory, as armored pets are rare in game. I'm not including druid forms in this, so swap your vote if you voted based on this.
So fellow hunters, what do you think? Personally, I think Blizzard could make more pets that use mount models or have armor on, as I like pets that look like they can take some beating (*cough*Horridon*cough*).
Edited because of defensive druids.

I'd be ok with "mount/armored" pets but uh.. Like Bowno said.. No druids or druid models for that matter. Those should stay uniquely druid.Bowno wrote:*Stares at last picture of the druid... Walks away shaking head*

Well, seems like I chose that last picture poorly (now that I think it, I should have seen it coming).
Thing is, I chose that pic because I couldn't find anything better (and I thought that using Horridon with Oondasta would be little "lazy" as they are from same patch and share the same design). So it is there to give people some kind of idea about armored cats. I'm not including druid models in this, so don't worry my shape shifting friends. I will edit original post.
Sorry about that.

My wants as armored pets. The Black Qiraji might be a bit too unrealistic though.
Kunchong for hunter pets!

I want an armored/mount bear.. bears are boring atm because you get three choices: diseased, not diseased, and a spirit bear that's a spirit beast, not a bear.

personally dont like saddles on em.
Armor in itself is fine though.

While this feature of the Grimtotem Spirit Guide wasn't exactly intended... - it will still be possible in future for everyone who wishes to tame this NPC to do so

Like Akyo i dont like the saddled ones, but armored would be nice
I'm loving the following one

I'm also quite a fan of these versions of the sabre cat, I think it's the minimal armour and saddle that’s just in the skin file rather than added to the model.

I quite like my saddled/armoured raptor pets and the old wolves from BC. I wouldn't mind an armani bear actually

Re: Should there be more mount/armored pets?
Personally I'd love to see more armored pets - I simply don't like the mount versions. I have a raptor and the riding wolf as pets on an alt as a "trial version", but I can't imagine a cat with a saddle as my pet.
I'd love to have more pets like this fellow:
I think people often forget about boars. I love my ghostly and my black armored boars on my hunters totally. And especially the face armor is something I think of as "useful".

The saddles bother me a bit (and will continue to do so, unless we get a skill to mount our pets - pwetty pwease? ) but armor? Hell yeah!
Before I came to wow, I played PWI as a venomancer (debuffer/pet user). My two most favoured pets were these beauties:

Edit: ecatomb doesn't like his pics posted over, so I've de-img-ed the links. Although you may need to copy-paste them for them to work /sigh

Totally agree! In the past I tamed that boar but I needed to let it go to make room.I plan to retame him.Finduilas wrote:Personally I'd love to see more armored pets - I simply don't like the mount versions. So far I know the only other pets with armor but without saddle are corehounds.
