I've (only recently) discovered that Pummel is an awesome interrupt. Thanks for finding Goldenback.

EDIT: Not sure but, is that a grey gorilla skin?

Nice find. This opens up the possibility that we might have missed more as well.

Great find :) It's exciting to wonder what else we may have missed. At least finding this guy more than a week after 5.1 has been released indicates that it's very possible. I'm still hopeful for some unused colours.

When we found him I felt like we found Bigfoot or the Lochness monster. I was very excited, anyway if you have any information of the zone that maybe some other missing rares can be like Allestria or Bongo let me know. I gladly will search for them.
So the search continues.....

This sums up that initial discovery feeling so well. <3

I was just looking through Wowhead's list of rare beasts added in 5.1 and it matches our list of found beasts perfectly, except for two.

One is Goldenback, which you just found.

The other is a purple Cata croc named Craw the Ravager. Given that every other one on the list has been found, it seems likely this one is in the game too. There's no location logged for it, so I wonder where it is!

My best guess is the Draenei starting zones; no one ever goes there :)

Seeing the new rares being all in vanilla content, I wouldn't count on that, as I don't think Azuremyst/Eversong is considered "vanilla content" by Blizzard.

Burning Crusade has been the base game for the past couple years, so anything BC is considered Vanilla by Blizzard.

My money's on somewhere with a swamp. :P

And Naxxramas is up in Northrend and level 80, but is still considered vanilla content because that's (I assume that's why) when it was introduced. And it isn't even because Wrath is now in the base game - BC is in the base game, and its raids weren't considered vanilla enough to get the new pets. Also, Azuremyst and Eversong received NO update in Cataclysm, where all of vanilla content did. From that I conclude, Blizzard categorises content by when it was introduced, so those zones are considered BC content.

This is it exactly. This is why Naxx has minipets, even though it's in Northrend now - it's still considered vanilla content, at least for these purposes.

The draenei and blood elf starting areas are most definitely BC content. You still can't fly in those zones, after all.

I highly doubt that we're going to find the croc anywhere but in one of the zones we already know there are rares. It seems to me as if Blizzard filled the zones in groups, and so that's where we're going to find them. The only reason the croc we found was in Wetlands is because he was on the border of Arathi and Wetlands, and ended up being placed in the 'Wetlands' side.

I may be proven wrong, but that's what all my money's on: either one of the zones we already checked, or riiiiight on the border of a zone we checked and a second zone where it got 'nudged over'.

I think I'm going to check a list of the areas we've checked, and see if any of them have some possible space in fly-only zones, or along the shore where people might not go usually.

You know what would be funny; the rare is a city mob like the sewer beast but instead of SW, it swims in the majestic green ooze off Undercity.
