I'm in the room with Chief Gaulus. I don't have anything that gives me coordinates, and all I have to go on is the overland map, which on I seem to be in the right place. I don't mind camping, just wanna be sure I'm doing so in the right place.

I'm sorry to say you're in the wrong zone entirely

Chief Gaulus is in a cave at the top of Northern Stranglethorn.

Scale Belly is in a cave at the top of the Cape of Stranglethorn, i.e. a whole zone south.

The entrance to the cave is at the foot of the mountains in the very north-east of the zone. Outside there's a grove full of other basilisks.

Thanks, Wain. That's what ya get for going rarehunting at 3 in the morning. But now that I'm awake a bit, and with your tipoff, I've got myself in the right place.
Was wondering why they were talking about killing basilisks on the way...
