Fun Fact:

Chimaeras and Worms STILL have channeled attacks, making them the only pets with a damaging ability other than a Basic attack.

Thanks very much! That's very handy. I'll have a look at this info a bit later and see what needs adjusting on Petopia.

So to sum up for BM hunters: all the exotics still have unique abilities, except for Clefthooves, Shale Spiders, and Silithids.

I think the pet ability tables are properly up to date now, so you can see which do and don't have abilities above their basic attack:

Please let me know if you notice any errors. Thanks :)

Clefthooves - Wild Strength seems to be the only error Wain, Wild Strength is also still at the bottom. :D

Has anybody seen a blue post that addresses the lack of abilities on certain pets?
Because as it stands it seems... incomplete or even broken design that some pets just have nothing anymore.
I cannot find a single mention of blizzard saying anything in regards to this topic.

(Edit: BTW: 1st post ever, played since beta classic, been lurking on Petopia since Wrath, really love this site for my closet hunter hobby of catching cool, exotic and rare pets.)

It pretty much looks like they removed all the buffs and called it good. The pets that only had a buff are left without a special, and the ones that didn't buff or had a little something extra are ok.

It is my understanding that those channeled attacks are a dps loss, compared to beast cleave. However, if you are out of range, or need to lay down some aoe without having a target (eg: flushing out a rogue or an invisible pandaren water spirit), they are great for those. Also, worms aren't damageable during their aoe, from what I remember.

I realized that but what I'm wondering about is if they'll put new abilities in their place or something or if they are genuinely planning on leaving some pets neutered with nothing to show for it while keeping unique utilities on others.
Most of my favorite pets still have their awesome utilities intact but it just feels.... wrong... that so many pets have nothing left at all.

Yeah, seems a little...lazy? They might have just had other more pressing issues to attend to, though. I hold out hope that they'll do a pass over the pets again and give them something.
