While we haven't had any feedback, they are at least aware of the imbalance. Hopefully someone will be prompted to fix it. Hopefully they won't do it by removing the remaining powers :P

It does strike me as odd that something so identifying for pets as unique abilities fell through the cracks in the expansion that has such a central focus on class/spec identity and fantasy. Granted pets are low on the totem pole compared to classes, but I see hunter pets as much a part of the class and its identity as warrior shouts or paladin hands. I guess they ran out of time.

I compiled this information into a chart to make it slightly easier to process.

In case anyone's curious, all available functions can be covered by 11 pets as BM. Marks and surv can cover everything available to them in eight.

That's 28/64 pet families that have functional abilities at all.

Nice chart! So while the Exotics have 2-3, more than half the normal families have nothing (including the new families which hey I'm just glad they finally got basic attacks ). I am hoping they get a pass soon, and I hope its not just a "stick them with something" but a thoughtful pass. Most abilities are thematic for the pet, sure, but they seem like such a random grouping of abilities. AoE damage, personal dodge, different damage reductions, and Mortal Wounds/Slows for days! I know the removal of stat buffs certainly put a hink in the whole dynamic, but still. Hope we get more useful utility stuff.

Bats
Bears
Birds of Prey
Boars
Direhorns
Dogs
Dragonhawks
Goats
Gorillas
Hydras
Hyenas
Mechanicals
Oxen
Porcupines
Raptors
Ravagers

Serpents
Sporebats
Stags
Tallstriders
Wasps
Wind Serpents
Wolves

That's what I'm hoping for too!

I'd also like to see clefthooves looked at. The quilen damage reducer at least has a healing component. Clefthooves don't get that, so there's no tradeoff for their ability's cooldown being longer.

The dodge ability - at least for foxes; I haven't tried on a monkey - appears to have an auto-cast option, but it needs to be triggered by the hunter. The button should appear solid instead.

The Moth Dust ability has been changed in the BfA Prepatch.
It now just removes a magical effect/buff from the enemy.
