Patch 7.1 Tameables
The Patch 7.1 tameables and new looks (that we know of) are here:
http://www.wow-petopia.com/legion71.php
Currently all the tameables are associated with Alcaz Island. The only other new looks are the falcosaurs, which are currently untameable.
But Wowhead shows a bunch of other NPCs that have been added to the database in 7.1. Not necessarily all are in the game (many probably are not!) but it's interesting to look through the lists.
Wowhead 7.1 Beasts : http://ptr.wowhead.com/npcs/beasts?filter=13;1;70003
Wowhead 7.1 Mechanicals : http://ptr.wowhead.com/npcs/mechanicals ... 13;1;70003
There may also be other creatures that are currently mis-classified or not yet datamined, or listed for an earlier patch. Like, Model GU-4RD-3R (the new green mechanowolf) is listed as being introduced in 7.0.3.
The Mechanicals are mostly non-animal things that could never be tameable anyway. Of course there are the arachnodrone spiders.
There are a few interesting Beasts, like the return of the yellowish autumn wolf :
http://ptr.wowhead.com/npc=94459/rustic-howler
dark red mana wyrms:
http://ptr.wowhead.com/npc=94897/mana-wyrm
wild, old model blue hippogryphs:
http://ptr.wowhead.com/npc=93321/deepwilds-glider
The latter isn't a tameable family, but interesting all the same.
I guess we'll gradually find out how many of these things are actually in the game and what is tameable!

Re: Patch 7.1 Tameables
I'm still hoping (beyond and back) that pet family abilities end up getting addressed as well this patch. Those Mechanical Spiders look so wonderful, but if they don't bring anything to the table, I'm not sure their looks will be worth the loss of snares/heals/shields/etc.

I'm still hoping for the Unicorns too. :/ And the Owlkittens, (Even if it is a druid hidden appearance).
Also hoping for a tameable version of the corrupted druid spider form.
But most of all - a fix for the fact that survival hunters need to use a freaking tenacity pet, and a carrion bird, riverbeast, or scorpid. :/

Seriously though I hope for this as well. At the very least, some blue insight into the reasoning behind the current situation.
Re: Patch 7.1 Tameables
If we do get unicorns (and I hope we do), I do hope their whinnying doesn't get too annoying. Hearing my dire beast unicorns whinny, I kind of worry that hearing it over and over and over from a 'real' pet might get old really fast.Inay wrote:I'm still praying for the unicorns.
Re: Patch 7.1 Tameables
Falcosaurs remain untameable in the latest patch.
There are World Quests to kill them. Amusingly, when you enter the quest area, Sira Moonwarden introduces the quest with: "Predatory birds have flown in from offshore."
So...
Does it flap its arms really fast? Ride in a zeppelin? Take business class? o.O
That, and the fact she calls them birds, makes me wonder if the quest was switched from some other intended model, like a roc, and they havent updated the text and speech.

Re: Patch 7.1 Tameables
Makes you wonder where they did come from (and how they got there) if they weren't native to the Broken Isles.
Re: Patch 7.1 Tameables
A couple of old-model blue hippogryphs were added to the 7.1 database. The other one is the Harrowvex Glider:
http://ptr.wowhead.com/npc=93332/harrowvex-glider
It makes me wonder what's up. It is odd to be using old models and I wonder if they're for a revamped old world area. Also, if they're aggressive then it'll be great for potential future taming - the only current blue hippogryphs are all friendly to Alliance.
Any idea what "Harrowvex" may refer to? A search brings up only that one beast, so the term may have been created just for it. I was just hoping it may give us a clue to where the new stuff is. But it also may not be in the game at all, yet.

Harrow(ing)
Acutely distressing.
+
Vex?
make (someone) feel annoyed, frustrated, or worried, especially with trivial matters.
Maybe they are meant to be REALLY annoying
Blizzard do have a habit of combining words to make names... but who knows

Yeah I just hoped the name had been used for a new area or other mobs that might gives us a clue. I guess not

You sure they didn't mean 'float'? XDWain wrote:Falcosaurs remain untameable in the latest patch.

Re: Patch 7.1 Tameables
BTW, I did a fly-around of Feralas, Ashenvale and Moonglade and didn't notice any new beasties, though I wasn't 100% thorough. I thought if the new gryphs were in old zones it might be one of those three.

Re: Patch 7.1 Tameables
I will say, one thing I really want to see tameable are the Sea Lions.
I've wanted them since Wrath and then they tease us by adding them to Dire Beast this expac too. D:
Sea Lions and Unicorns. V_V
