Survival Hunters have you seen this?

Unread post by evil950510 »

Has anyone looked at their pets abilities lately? I was looking at my foxes spell book and noticed this on last page https://plus.google.com/111960019729149 ... ejtfdV5Fhf appears Blizzard as done something to pets so SV can use any pet to gain stack of MB, also showed up on my scorpid.

Hunting Companion is just our Mastery. I did see they're looking into pet family abilities soon, but as of now the best pet for SV is still either a Carrion Bird, Scorpid, or Riverbeast specced Ferocity since the Mortal Strike they do counts as an attack for Hunting Companion.

7.1.5 removes the ability for attacks to proc it. (other than auto attacks and basic attacks like bite/smack)

But they did nothing to compensate for it, so it's a nerf. Along with the Explosive Trap Nerf.

Just a lot of Survival Nerfs even though they're already lowest on the charts. :/

Figures the one spec I am loving (when I played my hunters) and they nerf it to the ground. Nice.

After seeing the patch notes thought Blizzard had buffed up SV to be more viable for more than PvP?

When you say explosive trap nerf, do you mean the fact that it's aimed now? I use a macro to make it cast on my character's feet (same with caltrops) and it works more or less like it used to. May run into a situation or two where you need to get a little closer to make up for the reduced range, but it's far better than having to aim it.

#showtooltip Explosive Trap
/cast [@player]Explosive Trap

Replace explosive trap with caltrops (or any other trap or spell) as you see fit.

No, they replaced Improved Traps with Guerilla Tactics.

It reduced ET cooldown by half, making it 15 seconds. And instead gave 50% damage to it. (though we use Caltrops now because of it)

Over a minute, the old Explosive Trap, if the base damage was 1000, would do 4000 damage.
Over a minute, the new ET would do 3000 damage.

It's a 50% nerf by changing that talent to a 50% damage boost instead of a -50% cooldown.

(And the explosive trap macro has a high chance of failing, due to hotboxes)
