Re: New family : Feathermanes
BTW, I cant find any info on the new family in the usual database file. So either it's not added yet or it's buried in hotfix / cache data which I can't retrieve. So I can't glean info on diet, default ability or family icon. It's possible this will have to wait for the next build.

Re: New family : Feathermanes
Won't be a problem on my hunter... since I play her so much. But how the hell do they expect us to do this on every alt we have? I love mounts, but no way am I going to do this multiple times for a class-specific one...

Re: New family : Feathermanes
This news has made me very happy! I have wanted to tame Hippogryphs, Gryphons, and Wyverns for many, many years now. I don't care how long it takes me; those winged beauties shall be mine someday!
Thank you Blizzard!

Re: New family : Feathermanes
So does this mean those that are behind on their artifact which isn't fully artifacted cannot get this til like years later after the ap farm?
Re: New family : Feathermanes
It sounds like it would take a while. Not years but a while. If you're not busy gathering AP, try to at least keep the artifact research work orders going. The faster you get those done the more AP you'll get per item.Takanuka wrote:So does this mean those that are behind on their artifact which isn't fully artifacted cannot get this til like years later after the ap farm?

Here's an easier-to-view page for all potential feathermane looks (that we know of), regardless of whether they're known to be in the game or not:

How awesome would a fiery hippogryph be?

Re: New family : Feathermanes
This gets all my woots!
I do hope they let the book become purchasable without the artifact traits on the PTR so they can be checked out (and tested of course )
I agree Wyvern seems odd. I'm glad they are being considered of course, but as been said, no feathers. Perhaps a broader name such as Hybrid, Flightmane, or Soarlords would feel better including them. Plus Featherman refers to a specific species in WoW. Calling the family that would be like calling Scalehide family "Mushan" despite being more than that. Maybe the family name is a placeholder or could be considered to be changed to make the wyvern make more sense.
However I won't complain if they stay in the group because at this point I have completely abandoned trying to make sense of Blizzard's pet family naming logic.

Re: New family : Feathermanes
They have already done that with Rhinos and Clefthoofs. Instesd of calling them something to include both, they just call the whole family Clefthoofs.
Re: PTR and feathery tames?
Ah no, nooooooooooo. I didn't even finished grinding AP on my main spec, I don't want to grind for Titanstrike :cBendak wrote:Yeah, took a screenshot of the requirement https://twitter.com/BendakWoW/status/831983450596978688Rikaku wrote:Bendak wrote:Black and White gryphons confirmed

Awwww yeah~
CRAP I'm going to have to clean some stable slots.
Though, just to make sure I understand right... you have to purchase the Tome of Hybrid Beasts (to tame the new family), it isn't given to you for earning your class mount? I ask because I thought the new family was supposed to be a reward that tied with the campaign order/new mount stuff, not an additional grind/lock behind AP.
I mean if that's the way it is, ok I'll live with it because the new family is awesome. But I wanted to enjoy the new family while I was earning the new traits and levels, not months later lol
We don't know how long it will take to unlock the base traits yet though.

I am a little nervous because Legion's been out how long and I still haven't completed an artifact on one character hunter or not. I'm working on it but I just don't have the ability to dedicate a lot of time to grinding AP

I hardly play now and I'm finished with AP on my main spec and within 5 points of the other two.

Re: New family : Feathermanes
Well considering the 'unlock all artifact traits' color tint is unlocked pretty simply (http://www.wowhead.com/achievement=11144), I'm sure it's not going to count the infinite trait.

I'm glad Owlcats are finally being tameable (Should have been from the start), but I sure hope it's not Beast Mastery only. I really, REALLY want to stay Survival and have an Owlcat.

This is awesome but bad news for my alt hunters
Re: New family : Feathermanes
Oops, just added one I missed: the spectral wyvern! Like its gryphon counterpart, maybe it could be added as a spirit beast somewhere

I wonder if the armored gyrphons/wyverns will ever be tameables?
