Well fortunately it doesn't actually go underground unless you use the burrow attack and it just pushes thru the dirt as it moves staying above ground like a dolphin doing tricks and staying out while riding its tail in the water. It is amazing and since it doesn't go underground I can see this passing for a new pet with other ones being labeled tameable if this isn't already considered. I hope blizzard lets this one slide or lets the others tameable all together. And i'll post some screen shots.

Movement: It glides along the dirt as dirt kicks up while it is still upright.

Attacks: Flinging its whole body forward.

Death Animation: Falls and curls up.

Burrow Attack: Twirls on its way into the ground and pops back up.

Summon: It bursts out of the ground with dirt and rocks flying everywhere. Nice effects :D.

It stands upright when moving so it is easily noticeable.

And it is average size for a pet.

Only time it goes underground is when its burrow attacking and it has all the spells normal pets do.

I wouldn't mind it being tamable.

Here are some more pictures.

Bursting out as soon as it is called out for battle.

I honestly love it, and it seems pretty fair to me. Sure it looks a bit odd moving upright in that position, maybe later down the road they could add a new animation for it that looks like it leans forward as it moves.

Maybe we could compromise with a window to tame him before he's fixed on live? Similar to the maggots/crocolisks/grimtotem wolf of the past.

Though for some reason they don't seem to like unique summoning animations when you call a pet. For example that unique purple warp stalker summon, and a few other snakes from the past that would emerge when called. At least from what I can remember.

Hopefully blizzard would be nice enough to let us keep this. It isn't breaking anything, it isn't unnoticeable since it stands outside the ground, it is amazing :-D, it has no extra dmg or extra abilities like that acid rain spider had even tho it was only 14 dmg lol each drop lol. And again it is rare to even see since the WQ is like Kosumoth's mount one e.e" so rare to see.

If they don't go underground and become completely invisible then I don't see why Blizzard shouldn't allow this.
I suggest a kind question or implore to Muffinus on his Twitter.

This reminds me when Deep Tunneler (that worm in Winterspring) was like this. When first added, he wasn't full body and was still tameable (I think on PTR). They poo-poo on that by making him a normal above ground worm, but I've always wanted one like this.

What I want to see is if you give it blink strikes and attack something higher up. Sometimes pets can path in the air and this thing may look odd/hilarious. Taking it in water is weird too since it has no lower half of body.

All it does is growl haven't really seen much high things and it just surfs the ground with its kool centipede looking self. All honesty, I hope this guy stays I mean it doesn't break anything and it is in full blown view when attacking so it isn't gonna be hard to spot, if you missed it then you need to get your eyes checked its smaller than I expected too lol. I hope someone notable can actually speak up to muffinus since I doubt my word would reach em since im a no body in regards of status here while wain and quiv (You) seem more notable. xD if they don't they can at least don't delete ptr toons so I can keep it on ptr then :P

It isn't really a status thing, but rather based on their personal decisions and the popular opinion of Hunters. Might just have to wait and see.

Well I've seen noticeable differences when I have suggested something and got declined and then the next time someone more noticeable said the same thing they got accepted. So yeah idk it may be but I guess we shall see.

Aye, we'll just have to see. I remember when the skeletal bone serpent in Arak was briefly tamable. Quite a few vouched for it, including notable individuals, but it was still later made untamable. Blizz's plans usually come first.

Let us see.

We can tame elementals in the form of Stone Quilen, stone cats like Skarr, gem crabs and metal crabs like Karkin & the silver crabs, Shale Spiders, shale turtle, lava turtle, and core hounds

We can tame dragonkin in the form of Drakeadons like the Chromaggus/Chromohound

We can tame demons in the form of both core hounds, demon dogs,

We can tame mutants like Chimaeron and I can't find it anymore but remember at one point blizzard stated that chimaeras we night elves that had overdosed in exposure when the well of eternity collapsed and turned feral so yeah.

We can even tame mechanicals which doesn't make sense but glad to have them.

We can tame even the undead like skeletal eagles, rotting animals that should have long been dead, even spirits.

Even tamed a aberration, not me but other lucky people did with the ooze pet.

Even apes like monkeys and gorillas, I am sure I used the wrong terminology but still same thing.

So here's a question:

What defines the legitimacy of taming a pet, other than "Because Blizzard says so." hm?

This pet does;
1.) Not break the game by being invisible like the pet fire glitch pet. It travels above ground like a dolphin doing tricks in the water riding its tail. Even if it did travel underground it would be highly noticeable with dirt flying everywhere.

2.) Is not grossly oversized where people will cry "OMG KICK THE HUNTARD", "OMG BLIZZARD SHRINK THEIR PETS", ETC. It is within the lets say, "Goldilocks Zone", not to big, not to small, it is just right in size.

3.) Has no special abilities outside the worm family, does have unique attack animations but why not :D? They all work accurately and the dash adds a nice illusion when it attacks making it look like it is spitting acid when its the green tint from the dash still on.

4.) It is rare enough to not even be a issue, the world quest that spawns it rarely shows up just like the mount from Kosumoth's World Quest since it is usually only the pet. And besides even when it is up, you get all those buffs from being on the island that keeps killing and taking agro on it so makes it even harder so would be a real good challenge. Hate when I get the Demon Hunter or Warden they kill or take its agro half way thru.

5.) Me and others have always wanted this model, but was disappointed in that it wasn't tameable. Plus as a hunter, it is nice to add a new face into the herd. And, we can sneak up on the Legion coming from underneath them instead they will never see it coming (And no they travel above ground not below it so it will be noticeable.) :-D. For Azeroth!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So please let us keep this for live :-D. Even if it is limited, at least until the first world quest of it spawning at the very least.

But okay now I am done "preaching" lol. Hope others give this guy thought, these worms are misunderstood, they spent their lives underground but they still want to be loved just like the feathermanes we wanted and others that are appearing.

I'm not against them being tamable, but it is Blizz's decision. Probably the main reason they aren't tamable is because they aren't a complete model. For Blizz, that is enough of a reason.

Well unless you go into water or anything that would never be a issue lol. Doesn't fly or anything so would be non sense to be declined because of that. the trees seem incomplete as you walk up to them and look down at them from above or near it and you can see through it and see spots that are completely incomplete.

That is the case of pretty much every model in game. They are all hollow. The difference is that, on the outside, they are complete. The worm isn't.

Still, not like you gonna be spending time in water after all how Vashj'ir went doubt blizzard will make any more underwater zones until they fix the los issue when that is pretty much only time you would see the below part.

Besides would be nice to see some real rare modeled pets. I mean glitched pets as long as they aren't humanoid like the worgen pet or inanimate like the fire or a living colony of bacteria like the slime ooze then the "glitch" pets could be a series of unique rarer than rare pets. Because the Vinegrette thing from wod kind of took over the rare identities e.e" making them less rare. And the visual buff effects like the lone hunter with the sword should be made more legit like the beer bottle crab.

I wouldn't be so sure of that, seeing as there is a very good chance that the next xpac will be N'zoth/Azshara, thus underwater. I digress.

Honestly, I am glad that pets aren't being made rare like thay anymore. Hours/days/weeks of camping wasn't fun. Having another hunter kill the pet because you got there first wasn't fun. It was a system made toxic by the actions of people.

Besides, in the end, the pet would not be rare any more once everyone gradually got their hands on it. The system we have now is much healthier. Of course, I wouldn't mind some of those "glitch" pets keeping their effects, within reason.
