Oh good, glad its working! I'll be checking ally side group finder to see if any groups pop up I can join. I'm not super familiar with the zone outside of a little LFR.
Hope every one gets it!
Edit: What haste potion did you use Veph? I had drums of the mountain.

Managed to ninja mine during a pug. GG
By ninja I mean I was the only hunter and I just slipped in before the raid killed her on accident.

I happened to have a Potion of Speed in my bags! There's Haste Potion that's a little faster too. I'm sure any sort of Bloodlust would do the trick too, I just wanted some little boost to reduce my taming time.Quiv wrote:Oh good, glad its working! And remember, you don't have to click open the cage so that saves you some precious seconds too. If you're having trouble targetting Lalathin through it, just do a manual target (/tar Lalathin).

Re: The Hunt for the Fel Hippogryph (Lalathin) Edit: Found i
Oh, I should have also noted earlier: if you list your group in group finder (mine was "Test" til I got mine and confirmed the respawn), you can convert it to a raid without actually needing anyone else. Handy for some old content too (like getting Siege of Orgrimmar off of personal loot when soloing it, grumble mumble), but especially useful here :BRikaku wrote:I just solo'd my way to Lalathin (I haven't done a full clear yet, so once I have I will be putting my lockout up for taming too), but I only needed one person just to form a raid group to get in to Nighthold. I have access to the orb, so I can skip everything and just take the teleporter near the first scorpion trash pack.
I'm gonna put my group back in the finder now that I'm home again (NA Alliance Custom), and will be around 'til approximately 3:30pm pacific (at which point I have to bail for another doctor's appointment). I'll try not to hit instance cap while I'm at it, lol.
(Edit: which will be hella easy if every hunter that joins up doesn't actually have feathermane taming so I never have to reset the instance. Hmm, maybe I should capitalize that part of the description :P)

I used drums. I brought a couple of friends to help me clear the mind control wankers, and now I have a FELBIRB. I have my lockout extended, and my guild is likely not running NH this week. Feel free to hit me up.

Oh hey I didn't realize that was you Quiv, you should have said something! (I guess you did, but it was on the forums which I have a tendency to only obsessively check sometimes, lol :P)
I'm pausing my group for the moment but I'll try to get a few more in once I get back from my appointment and before my raid (so somewhere in the 6-7:30pm pacific range). I'll also try to run them sporadically throughout the week, and if you don't think you'll catch me at a good time, my btag is Xella#1292.
Wisdom imparted by watching hunters of varying pet skill levels do this:
• Marksmanship will 100% bite you. If that's your camo go-to, remember to spec out of Lone Wolf because you can't initiate the tame while specced into it.
• Target Lalathin before you even go into Camo. Make sure she's in your sights cos the instant a mob pats into you it's panic central, lol
• Remember Turtle. Remember Turtle. Remember Turtle.
• It's possible to only pull one pack of MC adds, and the MC adds are CCable, so in theory you should be totally safe to tame even without haste ups (I only checked it twice and was successful both times, ymmv):
• Remember Turtle. Remember Turtle. Remember Turtle.
• World markers are, apparently, witchcraft.

Sure thing. I am extending my lockout for the week, since my guild isn't running NH this week.
Edit: I am in tomb for a couple of hours, but I am a night owl.

OK, quest is up and I still have my lockout. I'm willing to share it if I'm awake and connected. HORDE ONLY, Sardonyx#12464
I can't help you with your tame, but having a surv spec or invisibility potion works fine. Currently resetting, 15 minutes or so from now it should be respawned.

You don't need a pot to solo. Here's how I did it.
1. Since my Hunter has never run NH, used group finder to put my hunter in a group with one of my other characters which has done the necklace quest. Unlocked the door on that character.
2. Cheetah/Turtle to the orb room. FD to drop aggro, then use orb to teleport.
3. Wait for CDs. Cheetah/Turtle to Lalathin, Feign.
4. Wait for CDs. Turtle then tame.

I definitely think it's doable without pots/haste buff, though mine was a heroic lockout and my hunter was poorly geared so even with turtle I was dying a split second before the tame could complete, it certainly made it easier on me!viaradda wrote:You don't need a pot to solo. Here's how I did it.

My hunter is 888 and I was using a Heroic instance as well. Of course the pot makes it easier...but also less funVephriel wrote: I definitely think it's doable without pots/haste buff, though mine was a heroic lockout and my hunter was poorly geared so even with turtle I was dying a split second before the tame could complete, it certainly made it easier on me!

Mine was below 850. It's just something to consider for people who might be having trouble. After years of wishing for this model to be tameable I wasn't looking for fun, I just wanted to get my hippogryph. ;Dviaradda wrote:My hunter is 888 and I was using a Heroic instance as well.
