I was on my Demon Hunter and zoned into Dalaran from the class hall and noticed a Fiery wolf by the flight master, and it disappeared quickly after.
I do NOT know if this was a hunter pet or some form change thing or other class thing, only that it was the fiery wolf and it was in dalaran.

there was some mage thing that could be done not sure if it can, to make the pet a fiery dark color, obviously the wolf posted is substantially more bright than my description...

It had the same shimmery skin as the Fel green and Gara wolves, except it was the red color. Unfortunately It vanished before I could snatch a screenshot.

I'd say it was almost certainly a shaman ghost wolf. The talent makes them appear randomly as fire, frost wolves.

Is that something added in the latest patch? I main a shaman and have not seen any shaman looking like that kind of wolf yet.

It's a trait for Doomhammer, called Doom Wolves or something of that sort if I'm not mistaken.
Wolves can come up in three different colours - Fiery, Storm and Ice.

They look great too, since the combo is completely random. You can have a blue and a white one one time, then a red and a white the next

I really hope we do get to see rare tames of these in the future, though. But I suspect they'd want to let Shammies have them for a bit. Maybe next expansion we'll see tameable Legion storm wolves too, since the artifact and Gara Hati will be gone.

But it would have been neat to have a quest that allows to upgrade Skoll to the lightning Doom Wolf model or purify Gara to the Icy one. If the player wants to, of course, since I know a lot of people are in love with old Northrend dorky worg model
