Okay, so I want the teal mana ray. Petopia and Wowhead are both lacking in info as to where I might find one, besides in the zone that's not open yet, but I've seen someone with that coloration. Anyone know where they are? I haven't been all over the existing two zones yet but I'm looking for it for a hunter that literally just hit 110, and I'd rather not get flattened while looking for it.

I've yet to see any of the teal ones in the wild, however Dire Beast calls them fairly often I've noticed. Could you perhaps have seen another hunter's dire beast? As far as I know they will not be available until next week when Mac'Aree opens.

Nah, there's definitely tamable ones somewhere. I spoke to another hunter who had a mana ray out because we both had em and were like "hey nice ray" lol. And theirs was the teal version. I didn't think anything of it, but now I see its only listed area is "Mac'Aree". But yeah, there's definitely somewhere currently available that has them. My best guess is it might be like some of the other mana rays in currently available locations and spawn in different colors.

I'm intrigued now, I want to find them if they're out there somewhere! :)

I'm just at a loss of where it could be...there don't seem to be any rays in Antoran Wastes, and Krokuun only has so many places to check.

Unless it's some..incredibly rare colour spawn of the ones that fly around overhead? I'll try killing them for a while and see if a teal pops up, but I've only seen the red and plum ones so far.

Its the same thing I'm doing. Yeah, I haven't seen any in Antoran Wastes. So I'm checking Petrified Forest and the place near the hovel. Scaling with the cliffs gets you easily high up there. It's easy to snipe the flying packs, so I'm waiting to see if one just rarely spawns in that color like Manashell or something lol

Yep, I'm up on a cliff right now and I'm killing the pack of 3 that fly past. I'd be so excited if there really is a teal obtainable because I want that one for my other hunter, but I'd just be surprised that we haven't seen more of it by now if that's the case.

EDIT: Well, I've been killing them for 45 minutes and I've yet to see any spawns other than red or grey. I'm stumped.

Do the Argus Darkrays have more than one npc ID?

Edit: I was having so much fun climbing around in the mountains that I forgot about the mana rays :)

Same, I'm not finding others. But at least I know for certainty it is out there. I remember the person also had their Hati transmogged as the Teal Mana Ray, which is what caught my attention cause their tmog matched their pets XD

I'll have to keep my eye out for that Hunter. I bump into the same regulars on my server it seems on Argus lol

I'm killing that pack of three right now, looks like a ten minute respawn time, and so far nothing but those two fel colors.

I wonder where they found it. I was only aware of teal mana rays on Mac'Aree.

If you happen to see the hunter again, could you please target their pet and run the following macro?
Code:
/run print("Target NPC ID:", strmatch(UnitGUID("target"),"-(%d*)-%x*$"))

The ID you get from that will let us know which one it is. Thanks! :)

The only teal Mana Rays that I've seen are from Dire Beast. Haven't seen them as a normal Hunter pet, nor in the wild.

Thanks, I'll make sure to do that if I see them again. I also keep checking the armory of some Hunters I remember seeing the same day. I can't remember their names, but when I see them its one of those "oh yeah I remember you!" moments.

Yeah, I mean, I'm stumped too at this point. It's honestly making me doubt what I saw just because I can't figure it out @_@ But I know I saw a Hunter with that teal mana ray. I would've agreed it could've just been a dire beast (or even two dire beasts), but I remember even seeing the lightning-effect that appears on Hati when you change his appearance to another pet. And, far as I know, no dire beast replicates that effect. But at this point, after searching this long, IDK anymore @_@ Maybe I just saw a glitch or something? D:

I just wish I had said something other than 'nice pet' in passing to the guy XD Now that I know it might've been some crazy-rare thing pre-Mac'Aree lol

Edit: I went through the area again on an alt, just to see if maybe there was something different with phasing and.. nope still not finding anything.

I still would swear I saw that teal mana ray with that hunter, but maybe it was one of the other two colors and some glitch on my end or some other toy/effect/bug made it appear like the teal one to me? I've never heard of such a thing, but I've seen some weird pet image glitches before so IDK lol. Sorry though for any confusion :( I'm still gonna keep my eyes peeled, but I'm starting to think it must've just been some glitch on my client or something.

Could've been lighting or something that made it look teal. But as I said, I haven't seen any Teal Mana Rays. Even still, we only have a couple more days till we have access to Mac'Aree :)

I'd say odds of it being a dire beast are pretty good. I seem to get them as dire beasts constantly.

At least teal should be available for realsies next week!

(Now put the orange ones in game, Blizz)

Right? I love the orange one so much, and I'd get one on my main hunter if it was tameable. I haven't gotten one as a dire beast yet, but I have the glyph that pulls from my stable, so maybe that's why. And yeah, teal will be available in a few days, but I've been plowing through levels on this other hunter so I could get one as soon as she hit 110. I hope once there's more info about mobs that it'll turn out there was a teal one somewhere in these first two zones, because I'm pretty sure I've seen one tamed. Then again, I might have seen it in one of the NPC zones with fighting on the edges, so it might have been someone running in with a dire beast still with them. Who knows?

I just re-checked Mac'Aree on the PTR but as far as I can tell there are no changes / additions to the colours there. I wouldn't expect much this close to release, though. I was very surprised to see the fel red one appear in Krokuun.

Darn, I really had my heart set on this black one. :(

I've become so accustomed to having every pet model available for taming in recent years, unlike the old days where random skins couldn't be tamed for arbitrary reasons. Maybe our kind Dev friend will help us out at a later date and make sure all the missing colours become available.
