It seems there are two IDs of Shadow Stalker in there! ID 122408 is still tameable with no meat. I could tame it in both silver-blue and dark teal with pink lights. Just now.

But while we were running the instance I also detected ID 125080. Unfortunately there were none left when I went back at the end so I couldn't test them or check their colour range. I suspect these were the ones that couldn't be tamed without meat. Hopefully someone can test next time they're there.

There are also tameable Skyfin mana rays in there (ID 122410, 110, non elite) in both teal and dark purple.

Warp Stalker (ID 122407, 110, elite) is a void stalker look but sadly an aberration.

Did you run it on Heroic or Mythic? Also, I did report these mobs during the ptr, but they were untamable when I found them. Must've been changed to tamable in a last minute build.

They might be tamable only on heroic, then. I tried taming them on Mythic and, whilst they were labeled as tamable, you couldn't tame them.

We'll need someone to check mythic on live :) It probably all depends on whether they use different IDs on mythic. There is one more ID (122560) with the name "Shadow Stalker" which I don't think we've identified in the game yet, but they could also be unused or used for corpses or anything.

I'll try to squeak into a mythic tonight. I gotta work in a bit, though. And for what it's worth, yeah, I did my tames on heroic. I can't believe I forgot to mention it.

I already did, that's what I mean. I checked in the ptr (Heroic), and they were untamable at the time. A late build make them tamable on Heroic. I ran through Mythic yesterday and checked them out of curiosity. They weren't tamable. A friend of mine, who is also a Hunter, tried to tame them and couldn't.

It's not a surprise that they are untamable in Mythic, due to Keystones and such.

Sorry I misunderstood. I thought you meant you did Mythic on the PTR. I don't suppose you grabbed an ID? :)

Our macro :)

Code: Select all

/run print("Target NPC ID:", strmatch(UnitGUID("target"),"-(%d*)-%x*$"))

Ah yes! I'll check it out in a bit. Thanks, Wain:)

Update: Ran the macro on the Shadow Stalker. Got 122560 from the Blue-Grey variant, and 122408 from the Silver-Blue variant. The Skyfin's ID was 122410.

Aha, thanks! I wonder if the 122408 in your mythic was tameable. I'd be surprised if they were the same ID as Heroic but not tameable, but I guess it's possible. Same with the Skyfins, which are also the same ID as the Heroic ones.

Tried taming them, but wouldn't let me. The message that pops up when you try to tame something that is untamable appeared when I tried. It's not really a surprise to me, seeing as people would tame them in Keystones in order to avoid Affixes.

Has anyone tried heroic taming tonight? Someone on the official forums is claiming the dungeon ones fade now.

Yeah, I just didn't think two with the same ID could have different taming flags. Odd.

For anyone wondering - I just tried this today as I was in a Heroic SotT and it has indeed been hot-fixed.

Thanks heaps for checking that :)

Out of curiosity I don't suppose you confirmed its NPC id with the macro?

Code: Select all

/run print("Target NPC ID:", strmatch(UnitGUID("target"),"-(%d*)-%x*$"))
Just curious, in case you happened to target one with a different ID. I'm pretty sure another ID exists (at least in small numbers) in Heroic, but I haven't been back on my Hunter to confirm.

I certainly did! These are the 2 I previously tamed prior to the hot-fix.

Funnily enough, the macro reports the same NPC ID for both the Blue-Grey one and the Silver-Blue one in the video I made.

ID: 122408

I just ran the same macro on my actual tamed pet and the ID is the same for both colours.
