Re: Talbuk colour we thought was missing...
Actually I saw it on the PTR. I forgot to mention that part. It’s possible that it’s not live but I had assumed it was.
I looked around the other talbuks but didn’t see any additional colours. Some already had four variants, which is currently to maximum number possible for a single NPC. But some, like the calves and stags, have room for more potential variants. The calves are white with only one horn shape, but could easily accommodate both shapes. The stags are only purple could easily have the dark purple variants (currently completely unused) added.

Re: Talbuk colour we thought was missing...
I was in that area of Mac'Aree earlier today and I didn't see any. Even went out of my way to kill some for a bit to see if anyone would spawn. None did. I think they are adding that particular variant because it is the Lightforged Draenei Hunter's pet. By adding it as the possible variants that the Chitinbuk can spawn as, other hunters will be able to tame it.

Oh I’ll bet you’re right! I’m which case... I wonder where the tameable void stalker isValnaaros wrote:I was in that area of Mac'Aree earlier today and I didn't see any. Re: Talbuk colour we thought was missing...
Alrighty! So, I have found two more unused variants for Talbuks!
The first is the Dark Purple w/ Backswept Horns. It is used by a new Talbuk, the Elusive Chitinbuk. I found it right next to the pavilion that the Herald of Chaos rare spawns in.
The second is the White w/ Sidespread Horns. Found it on the Ruinwalker Calf.

Re: Talbuk colour we thought was missing...
Oh awesome!!! I checked the calves last night but didn’t see that. I completely missed the new talbuk but then I was only looking for new colours in existing ones.

That also makes it far more likely that the other mana ray and cat colours are hiding there somewhere.

Checking it out right now
Re: Patch 7.3.5
Agreed! It was an amusing quirk at the time but that was a very long time ago and the novelty of a special mount in the instance has long worn off. Back in BC and LK if I was going back to farm AQ I’d enjoy getting out the old silithids, but it’s hard to be bothered after all this time.Bristlenose wrote:I do think it is high time the scarab mounts be freed from their restriction to only be used in the raids. It makes them completely useless 99% of the time to have. I doubt they will rethink that but it is a hope with these new models they can at least be zone restricted to Silithus as a whole, rather than Ahn'Qiraj and its Ruins.
I wouldn’t mind if they tied it to a quest or achievement (or a drop from
Twin Emps) though.

Ooh, I hope so!! That would be fantastic. I wonder who slipped all this in under our noses...Wain wrote:That also makes it far more likely that the other mana ray and cat colours are hiding there somewhere.

The demonic grubs are still untamable, which is of no surprise.
Mana Rays now will occasionally dip and land on the ground. I think this was done so that they could be more easily tamed.

Re: Talbuk colour we thought was missing...
I still think it's a shame that they elected not to make these tameable. If there was no precedent for them? I could understand. But having significantly poorer textured caterpillars already, these ones would add nice variety to the family and they stand up well to being enlarged, their model integrity is very good. (and they're just so cute I want one T_T)Valnaaros wrote:The demonic grubs are still untamable, which is of no surprise.

Found the red Panthara! It is found right behind Naroua. It is called the Ancient Duskcloak. It is absolutely stunning!
@Veph. It is probably because they are baby demons. They'll eventually become those flying winged ones, which look very similar to Felhunters.

Re: Talbuk colour we thought was missing...
An unfortunate technicality, as well as with the demon spiders, which are just good models in their own right.
But ohh the red panthara! How exciting. Now I'm certain someone must have gone through and added all of the missing colours. I'll be so glad to tame the black mana ray finally, assuming it's hiding somewhere too.

Re: Talbuk colour we thought was missing...
It looks like the Elusive Chitinbuk can also spawn as the Dark Purple w/ Sideward Horns variant.

Re: Talbuk colour we thought was missing...
Thank you so much for finding these!! I’m especially happy to see the red panthara in. That was always a real beauty. I’m still hopeful for a white and pink mana ray.

Any of that! Dear gods I would die happy if I could actually ride my silithid mounts outside of the dang raids!
