Easiest way is within the quote tags, add the name after the first part like this:

Hmm! How about more emphasis on action than appearance? Pacing anxiously, sniffing curiously, rumbling (as opposed to grumbling) contentedly, twitching alertly - depending on the "sub-species" of the beastie, these could all be interpreted differently.

Hmm...I'll take a crack at a spirit beast emote...it'll be good practice for when I download the add-on and want to make my own custom emotes.

A) "Spirit World Related"

1) Spirit Beast dissolves into the spirit world then reappears

a) behind an unsuspecting target with a vicious growl.
b) behind an unsuspecting target and licks their face playfully.
c) and pounces on a critter.

2) Spirit Beast phases in and out of the spirit world

a) impatiently as it waits for it's master/mistress.
b) playfully, entertaining the surrounding onlookers.
c) in amusement.

3) Spirit Beast fades into the spirit world

a) in a huff.
b) in embarrassment.
c) in exhaustion.

B) "Glowing Effects"

1) Spirit Beast's gleam fades as it

a) slips into a peaceful sleep.
b) retreats nervously from strange passerby.
c) lowers it's head in misery.

2) Spirit Beast's glow flares

a) as it snarls in anger.
b) as it leaps around in excitement.
c) as it shows off to a nearby crowd.

C) "Actions"

1) Spirit Beast pounces on a critter in a radiant flash of energy.
2) Spirit Beast stares off into space as if examining some unseen object.


All I got for now, hope you like a couple/I jump started some other ideas. I'll try some more after supper.

I like those; they account for prowl being a legitimate spirit beast ability too.

OOH! How about something like "<spirit beast> yawns in boredom and casually zaps a nearby critter with a white beam of light"? (Speaking of spirit beast abilities, variations on critter-zapping for sport would be hilarious!)

And for the "critter-zapping for sport"...

Spirit Beast carefully glances at it's master/mistress then races off to see how many critters it can zap before it's missed.

Or

Spirit Beast spots another spirit beast. They glare at each other then throw a casual glance at their masters before tearing off to see which one can kill the most critters.

Haha the one I came up with was "Spirit beast casually glances at a nearby critter, contemplating a spirit strike." Great minds think alike and all that.

I really like Saturo's suggestion too, though I'd say it looks up at the sky instead of stars to account for daylight.

Always did hate it when people said spirit beasts were weak. To me, they're awesome. I've done more DPS with them than I ever have with a wolf.

Doesn't surprise me; wolves are less great for BM, really.

Speaking of wolves, they and devilsaurs appear to be getting similar raid buffs, which I also find appropriate, since devilsaurs are really just big puppies!

Even when I was SV, I'm doing more DPS as BM with a Devilsaur or Spirit Beast than I did with SV with a wolf. Maybe it's just the spec for me. XD

Yeah i saw that. I'm giddy. :3 A lot of fellow hunters I raid with are excited too.
