Seems more stable to me now...I notice one error I used to get doesn't seem to be happening anymore.

On the subject of dogs....I got a hyena recently and have been spending a lot of time with it. Are the hyena emotes more in line with what people would like to see for dogs?

I will have to tame a hyena and get back to you on that. :P

I've always thought a lot of the wolf emotes should go to dogs. Yeah wolves are similar but I feel like they're too tame. I guess I just have trouble with a wolf playing fetch.

I think the hyena emotes are fine with hyenas... granted I probably should spend some more time with my hyena, but I think what I've seen is good. I guess I'll spend some time with one and double check, hehe.

Yeah, I love the hyena emotes as they are, they really suit them. Even made me connect with a hyena when I never have before. :)

You must still need the custom files. I don't think Efindel put those in when he did up the addon. There's ALOT there that Jorna never got a chance to put into the addon. Wolves haven't been playing fetch in a long time

And what I'm trying to ask is: should dogs have a similar feel to them as hyenas? Would that be about right?

omg I just now updated PetEmote and I LOVE IT. Aaahhhhhhhhhhh You have no idea how happy I am
Sorry, sorry, I'm slow, and was scared to update PetEmote but then Kalli helped me get it all together and it works and ahhh! Okay anyway. XD

I just went and looked at the hyena emotes, and there are some I definitely see dogs doing. There are a few though that I think are just hyena though, such as gnawing on a bone fromt heir last kill, or licking blood from their lips. I dunno I just see that to be a great hyena thing... but not a super great dog thing. That's just my two cents on it though. :)

Been meaning to ask, but is there any way to get it to NOT say the pet's species? Like <Hunter name> 's pet Nibbles <emote> instead of <Hunter name> 's pet Crab Nibbles <emote>. It just seems like it doesn't NEED to say it, but that may just be me.

Mine doesn't do that. Normally you only see that when you are an outside observer who doesn't have the addon. To me, all I see is "Azami touches her mistress's hand gently with a foreleg" or whatever. And, for other's pets, I see "Sekhmet nuzzles his mistress's leg" etc, etc.

To someone without the addon, it would appear "Teigan's pet spider Azami touches her mistress's hand gently with a foreleg" and "Jadeshot's pet cat Sekhmet nuzzles his mistress's leg" etc etc.

Why yours is acting like you don't have the addon is beyond me. I've heard of the problem before but never experienced it and sadly have no idea what to do about it.

Here are my demon dog emotes. I am not done writing them (obviously) but haven't been on the forums to post what I have written. Been a bit out of sorts. Will be adding more tonight and through the weekend.

Those are cute, Rex :) Love the bits about stalking critters and stealing gloves.

Demon Dog emotes! <3 I had to turn off Pet emote when I had my demon dog out because in my mind my Gytrash isn't one to affectionately nuzzle or slobber all over the place and those emotes threatened to ruin my very thin bond with him...He just..Isn't a dog...He's cunning, cruel, mischievous. I adore those emotes Rex and I will have to add them to my game.

I had that problem. I was able to fix it by using Curse Client to uninstall PetEmote and letting it also any delete any saved info about the addon. Then a fresh install of the addon and new emotes and it was fixed. For me at least. I kept manually deleting the addon myself but it wasn't getting the saved info in the other files that way, somehow that seemed to be messing up how it showed the emotes. Good Luck!

Ok, I cannot seem to get this add on to work. I have downloaded both files from the first post and unzipped them in the Interface/addons folder. What do I do to get the emotes to start up in game?

I think my TRP2 addon does it. But still if there was a way to get it to not say the species that would be cool. I mean I make my own Crocoslime e-motes and I have to place Biohazard as a "Slime" but people can see my pet is a slime or whatever pet it is, its just really redundant to me is all.

I wish there was an option that automatically turns the addon off when in raid. I sometime forget to do so and some raid leader are not as fond of the addon was we are.

On a side note can someone recommend a good non-combat pet emote addon? I have tried Chinchilla Critter Emote, but some of the emotes are a a bit strange, and down right embarrassing.

/pe random on
is the command that will turn it on. Normally it's on by default, but keep in mind emotes only appear at intervals, so you might not see one right away.

If you want to test to see if it's working just type
/pe random
which should instantly generate an emote. If not then it didn't install properly.

To turn it off type in
/pe random off
