I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one here who spent most of last night going on a taming spree! I just thought I'd share my journey with everyone
After fixing my talents and spellbook, and spending some time bashing about a practice dummy to get used to the new UI, my first stop was to the Barrens to bring back a special friend to my Hunter family. I had Beauty the Raptor from level 14 up until last week, when I tamed Reverie, my Skoll. I love Reverie, but I've been missing my Beauty terribly. I was so happy to bring her home again.

Since I was in the Barrens anyway, I thought I'd see if Snort the Heckler was in his usual range. It might have had something to do with the fact it was 12:30am, but as luck would have it, he was! A tame (and sex change) later, and Shenzi is back home. She was originally a brown Taranis hyena I had as a temp tame back when I was hunting my Devilsaur, Ironhide. Even though I didn't have her for long the first time, I felt a connection with this hyena. I'm glad to have her back.

Next, it was off to Sililicus to tame something I've always wanted since spending half of grade 11 playing Starcraft I, my very own pet zergling! Well, the nearest WoW equivelent. I don't know why Blizzard doesn't just admit the Sililids are Zerg, I mean, it's not like they have to worry about being sued. Anyway, I was thinking of grabbing one of the Hive Regal Ambushers, but as luck again would have it, I found Lapress! (I remembered to take a screenie proving that yes, I actually did find the rare). I named her Deekah, after my Zergling protagonist in an old Starcraft fanfic I had written back in high school.

At this point, I thought I'm having such good luck with rares, why not head back to Northrend and check to see if Loque was out and about. He wasn't, at least not in any of my flyovers of his spawnpoints. I did, however, find something just as pretty -- the Goretalon Matriarch! I know she's not exactly a rare, but she is the only snowy white eagle in the game right now, and she is very pretty. It took me a while to think of a name for her, but I eventually settled on Oracle, after the character from DC Comics' Birds of Prey. I think it suits her.

Next, off to Outland! I've been wanting a wasp for quite some time, since in a fan fic I was working on when I first started playing WoW, Scorponok and Waspinator are the two symbiote-Transformers for my character, Nightshade. Since I have my Scorponok, I thought it was about time his "brother" joined him. It was actually a bit of a pain to find the green wasps in Zangamarsh. They're right outside the Spawning Glen -- the last place I thought to look for them.

My guildie/boyfriend came online shortly after I tamed Waspinator, and together, we went through a couple of Outland dungeons for the next two on my list: Peppermint, the green Nether Ray from the Underbog, and Belore, the red and white, flightpoint-matching dragonhawk from the Botanica. I actually forgot to take screenies of them last night, so I took a couple when I logged on in Thrallmar this morning.

After my dungeon tames, my bf wanted me to run his pally, who had just reached lvl 60, through Hellfire Ramparts. I wasn't going to tame anything else that night, but then I remembered the Black War Wolves that inhabit that dungeon. I'm sure one of them would like a non-Fel Orc for a friend. Took me a little while to come up for a name for my new wolf, but I settled on Tazza this morning, after my first dog.

So, that was my taming spree, and with 10 stable slots left for Cata! I'll just leave with the cheesy little song that was going through my head all of last night.
