Which pet do you think gets the least love?

I'd say Hyenas myself.. but looking at the provided list, there are a lot of pet classes I see rarely if ever... and usually it's me that has it!

There are much more Hyenas tamed then Nether Rays and Spore Bats, you cant deny.

After a short thinking i think the beasts got the least love are Sillithids, even rarer then Nether Rays and Spore Bats.

I voted for moth as I ever only have seen one on a hunter.
But that one was so confident about the moth that I almost thought about having one myself.

But I resisted.

You hardly ever see moths or bats on my server. :(

there are many thats about never used these days.
Like Crocks, tallstriders, All the birds and big flyer pets are very very rare.
Rhinos and scorpids got stomped out of the game.
As well as ravagers, boars and turtles beeing far between each sighting.

i had a bat in BC and LOVED it! the huge size was great in pvp ( i was pvp focused back then)
though once wrath hit, it hit my poor bat like a cannon ball to a frozen chicken (POOF!) :l

But these days i have been thinking of droping my Skoll to go and tame a bat. as Skoll is the only pet in my stable i could possible let go off. Sucks a bit. cause i love his lighting effect and blue skinn to bits. but hes been dusting down in the stable for months now and i do not have a cunning pet.

Hmm yeah it seems the pets we see mostly used nowadays at 80 are

Wolves
Devilsaurs
Bears
Spiders
Crabs
Cats

I understand that with current game mechanics we have superior pets over others but i think ppl are too high strung for "the best dps" and lose sight of some of the more enjoyable aspects of our pet class. Hell the only reason i even play a Hunter is because of the pets, the variety, the companionship i feel/roleplay . Lets give some of the slightly abandoned pets some loving!

Hmm, I have to say that I don't think I've ever seen someone with a Silithid in game. Ever.

Besides those, Sporebats and Nether Rays are definitely rare. I think Bats are hard to come by as well.

So far, according to Rethei's assumptions, I have mostly only seen those pets among current hunters. I actually have two pets that fall under that list but three others I hardly see anybody else with. In fact, I have yet to see another pink tallstrider like mine in my realm and my pink bird is a good pet. It seems that nowadays the old original pets I still won't mind owning like scorpids and tallstriders will stand out among the horde of bears, wolves, and spirit beasts. I don't even care for spirit beasts for that reason. They're pretty but they are too popular.

Nether Rays. Definitely.

I have NEVER seen anyone using one as a pet.

They are stuck as some bizarre PvP type pet now. Banished to obscurity.

Nether rays [tho they do have a lovely PVP silence/interupt], Sporebats, Warpstalkers. I've seen atleast everything else once.

Tho to be fair I can understand with rays, they are cunning and more pvp orientated than anything. Spore bats are alright but they are cunning also and like with rays you'd have to feed them constantly if BM [since glyph for happiness breaks with imp mend pet] and carrion feeder can't be used IC afaik and glitches, bugs, breaks etc.

Warpstalkers are great solo pets tho, but I can understand again why no one would want one. There are unfortunately only two skins, and not everyone likes the color schemes or others just like more comon place cookie cutter tank pets [IE crocolisk, turtle, bear].


To be honest my addition would be worms. I have only seen a handful of worms and never in pugs or anything. And tbh I don't see why. I mean sure you're not gonna be doing 'leet dps' with a tenacity pet in a dungeon, but I've managed to have my worm TS without pulling threat aslong as I am careful, and Sunscale's armor debuff seems to have helped out.

And for dungeons like VH with mobs running all over the place from certain portals, he's managed to grab aggro off clothies and allow the tank time to grab them off my pet.

And face it.. who wants MOTHS flying around their head!?

To be honest I would love it if the moths flew higher than they do ingame. Most barely scrawl just above the floor level and don't really seem to get into the face of anyone. While this is a boon this is also a pet peeve as I have never seen a creature fly that low to the ground before.

I would have to say spore bat of Nether Rays as well, although one of my hunters does have a Nether Ray. In fact i use several of the pets you have listed here, as i have several huters with Wind Serpents, one with a Warpstalker and at one point i did use a moth but replaced him with a raptor

i would say nether rays and sporebats i see hunter's with one now and then but its like trying to find a troll rogue for the V-Day Acheveiment HARD!!
