Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
Awesome!
If people can post screenshots, I'll mark Confirmed in the original post and link to it. Meanwhile, roaming around grabbing the un-done ones myself--omw to diseased wolf land atm
Roitar--the embers on the Rocs don't show as buffs either, but as the effect dissipates on death, sadly so will the buff. Doesn't hurt to try, though, especially since a re-tame is easy enough!

it probably wont, sorry.Roitar wrote:Works on the Felscale Crawlers.
It doesn't show as a buff, so might stay after death, gonna check it now.
Since it didnt keep it after death before tame.
it is a fool-proof system

I don't think so, as I'd heard they don't keep that buff on death. Can anyone test it?
Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs

Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
Thanks
With the dogs--BUYER BEWARE. The buff is STILL a damage cloud, and for me in PvP gear is ticking for ~1300. While you might think "woo AoE," keep in mind that a. this would DEFINITELY be an exploit, as you're actually gaining an advantage, and b. if the pet dies, as it certainly would with such strong AoE, it will lose the buff anyway. If you try and take it into a city, it will aggro anything neutral at all, Gamon included, nearby.

Doh...
I tamed it, the bear has the buff, "Feeding the brood" but no eggs on its butt. =/
Also when it dies it loses the buff.
ugh!

Hang onto it a bit, perhaps some will spawn? In any case, it keeps the "diseased" look
Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
It works on the Tainted nightstalkers (not yet in the list, griff)
It actualy gives a +15% damage taken/dealt buff, This might also be seen as an exploit.

Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
Thanks a ton, adding that with update. I've sorted the pets alphabetically now, and am making the names red on pets whose buffs could potentially be considered an exploit.
Seeing as these pets' buffs still aren't permanent, I'm not sure how bad the situation is, but I would avoid keeping any that you tame, and certainly ask that you don't use them if you do!

Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
It's funny really--this only really hit me because I was lying in bed, thinking about what Griff said--that we needed to find a way to make pets despawn on tame WITHOUT them dying, in order to hang onto these buffs (even temporarily).
Then I remembered that the first time I'd tamed the Ghost Wolf, I'd abandoned the white wolf during a lagspike, and then found out that I still had a (missing) pet when I went to tame another. It made me think--perhaps the server processed the tame AND the abandon at the same time?!
Looks like it I'm glad I finally solved that mystery in any case It was driving me nuts!!

This is great, I just tamed the oil slicked wolf and the flaming boar with this macro. Here's hoping they don't remove them

Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
/script PetAbandon() seems doesn't work for me, as the tame finish it only abandons my oet for real..
