When I woke up, I decided to fly out to Jadefang's spawn and see if she was up. I'd already killed her twice - once for my minipet, once for a friend's. She was! I launched myself up there quickly and tamed her without hesitation. She wasn't really on my "urgent tame" list, but I was still thrilled to have a pet to match my lil shale spider.

A little bit later, I was doing my Deepholme dailies and found Terobus, a gyreworm rarespawn. He almost literally spawned on top of me! Unfortunately, not tameable, but I had a blast killing him and he dropped some boe plate bracers.
Went and did some instances with a friend. After dailies swapped over I decided to do the Deepholme ones again. On my way back to the Temple of the Earth, I found none other than Aeonaxx flying around. After a 20minute hunter melee struggle, I brought him down and looted the rare drake.

So my friend was out in Twilight Highlands after I finished, and I decided, what the heck, I'll go out there and check for rares. As I'm checking the last rarespawn point, NPCscan starts the bells and whistles - it's found my most desired pet second only to Terrorpene (who I already have), Sambas! I drop down and pull off a flawless tame despite forgetting to trap. Doh.

So here I am, not even a week into Cata, having dinged 85 about 24 hours ago....with 3 awesome pets, a rockin' mount, and of course, a character I've super enjoyed playing since I first decided to take the hunter class up for good in Wrath.
