4.0.6 PTR MIA pets as of 1/19/11

I know we have a plethora of threads with updates about pet changes, model changes, rares popping up etc. and I know we have the main sticky to detail all the found changes.

i wanted a compact list of all the MIA pets. the MIA pets are of special interest to me, especially the fact Zaricotl and OCJ havent been found yet (many badland/hinterland loops i have made.) my PTR time has been spent mainly to try and find the MIA pets that havent been confirmed.

again not trying to usurp any current thread, im just trying to keep a running tally of the status of these MIA pets, if for no other reason than my own searches.

Note I didnt include Sian-Rotam since it appears his MIA status is due to a script bug of sorts.

This is in no way exhaustive, and is ever being updated as new MIA pets are brought to my attention or old ones are found.

The Scorpid Duneburrower is not a rare, but rather part of the robotic chicken quest in Tanaris. They spawn when you are escorting him. Or spawned, rather; I'm not sure if they still do as I've finished the OOX quests.

Also, Kurmokk's skin is the same as it used to be.

Presently, while Big Samras is listed as having a new skin, I've been unable to find him in the wild after searching. Then again, there seems to be *no* Hillsbrad/Alterac or Badlands rares at all at the moment on the PTR, and potentially on live.

So we are back up and running now on all servers, have these changes gone through today? Does Olm look the way he did on the PTR now Live?

I thought Kurmokk used to be that red/brown color, and now he is black?

PTR is getting a new build soon. 4.0.6 still has some changes being made (including one to serpent spread that hurts my heart lol)

I took a swing around the PTR for OCJ post-copy, but no sign yet. However, I wouldn't expect to find him until his usual spawn time, say about 12-13h into the server start.

Vile Sting has a new location in Thousand Needles, btw. His old area is submerged!

The new looks and such have NOT gone live today. There was a new build put up on the PTR, so it's still a work in progress.

Serpent spread is currently far too powerful - and besides, we can probably keep up a similar amount of dps by tab-multishotting through a pack.

Kurmokk appeared red in the screenshot of him on the current PTR. It's just dim lighting!

Ah, any changes on Snarler? Was just in Feralas and spotted him running around. Does he look the same as always on the PTR right now? He was my old raid pet and I was curious if I should expect anything different on him.

Kurmokk is the same red-brown as he always was. The screenshot was at night, so it didn't show well, but he's red.

And yes. Snarler still looks the same as of the last time I checked. I haven't checked recently, though; will wander out and do that now, if a new build has hit the PTR. I didn't have any extra downloads, so I wasn't sure if one had been done yet or not.

gotcha on kurmokk, im viewing through remote control so color quality is low anyway.

The notes suggest the newest build hasn't been done recently. The 6th was the last one, so unless the patch came in *WAY* ahead of the patchnotes, we've not gotten the new build yet.

Fear not, Snarler has not been changed. I seen him running around at his old places on PTR. (I am glad for this one not changing

I hope this coming building introduces Zari, I have such a love hate relationship with that buzzard. not sure how i feel the white.

I mentioned a lack of rares in Hillsbrad/Alterac and Badlands. I'm finding a similar thing on the PTR right now in The Hinterlands. Not just OCJ, but *none* of the Hinterland rares seem to be up that I can find.

Ive spent a fair amount of time looping around hinterlands for OCJ and come to think of it, i havent noticed any either. I will update the list with these zones (hillsbrad, badlands, hinterlands) and the rares that were located there just to keep track.

I did notice those shandraspawn spiders are still untameable, but I believe that is on live as well. not sure why, especially when it seems shadra is still tameable.

Interestingly, and (almost) completely unrelated--I spotted Lapress on the PTR and she was now HUUUUGE, about double the size of the others in the area, and still rare & tameable (and still a pink silithus Silithid). Grubthor, however, was unchanged

I noticed a *lot* of rares have been eating their Wheaties, actually! The rare imp in Burning Steppes is enormous, too.

when you say no rares, i assume you mean rares of all types in the zone right? or you just saying youve not run into any of the tameable rares?

ive not run into any in hinterland, tameable or not, but i wanted a confirmation of this phenomenom before i listed.

I have tried following Deathmaws status but I never could narrow down if he was ever MIA. I made this list to track those that were MIA post shattering/cataclysm. I know he has a new skin on the PTR but was he MIA after shattering and resurfaced with the new skin on PTR?

if he was a former MIA, I will add him. but if he is just a color change, I will leave him off.

No, I meant rares at *all*. No tameable, no humanoids, no nada.

Felwood is different. There's no Olm there, but other rares are still around: I've been able to locate Death Howl and The Ongarr both on Live and on the PTR. Also Mongress.
