the whistle is just a whistle, something to find to increase your skill. you can't use the ivory comb to change your haircut.

I hope they grace the armadillo with the ability to roll into a ball as part of its idle animation.

They probably will...you know how the sea turtle jumps and retreats into his shell, then jumps to come back out again? The armadillo will probably do that; jump, roll into a ball, flop on the ground, then jump to uncurl. D'aw! I want one now! I used to live in OKC, and there were always some walking around (and occasionally flattened on the road, ew..).

I'm excited for the seagull too! I wish they would flock if your mini pet was out when you were near some other seagull critters. People hate them, but they always remind me of the ocean. I hope they make the seagull sound!

Looking at them in the 3D viewer of wowhead, they seem to be based on a bear's skeleton/animation with the same idle movements.

LOL! So Blizz can make squirrels, skunks, and cats look as close as possible to their RL counterparts.
But for the armadillos they give them some tusks?! These must be some pretty mean armadillos.

I'd love to have an armadillo mini-pet! I'm liking the reddish armadillo the best. And I'm not liking at all really the bear animation on the armadillo. Armadillos aren't aggressive.

the Armadillo looks like it would shank you in a dark alley way for your cash. Protego yes real life ones may not be but who says wow ones can not be?
